Great speaker. It's loud and hooks up easily from my phone. It's nice to use indoors as well as outdoors. Powerful sound.

This speaker is easy to turn on and off and the size is great. I experienced a bit of buzzing or distortion every time I tried to use this in different locations. Based on my testing, I concluded the device was bad. The distortion wasn't terrible and otherwise the sound was great for 95% of my listening sessions, but if you are going to put money into a speaker, this is probably not the one. I will probably still use it, because its better than my phone speaker even though it does introduce a distortion.

The sound it makes is decent; it will not win any awards, but certainly I have heard worse sounds from low-end Bluetooth speakers. It is not loud, and not stereo, but it makes decent wireless sound for the bucks.The speaker controls are on the bottom of the unit, under the rubberized surface (control symbols are molded into the rubber). You depress the power button symbol and hold it down for a couple of seconds to turn it on - when on, a small blue LED appears; push the Bluetooth symbol to synchronize. The last control is a pause/start button. The controls all work well, but since they are shallowly molded into matte black rubber, they are nearly impossible to see unless you are in full light. It is that difficulty to find the controls that prevents me from giving this a better rating.The USB mini-B female charging port is located on the side under a rubber environmental cover that needs to be pulled out to access. A charging light indicates whether it is low on charge, being charged, or is fully charged (if the light stays off when it plugged in). A very subtle reset button is located under the charging port, requiring a small wire to depress.This unit is IPC65 rated, which means it can tolerate low pressure jets of water from all directions, and is totally protected against dust (e.g., sand). (It cannot be immersed in water.) It is not so super cheap that it could truly be regarded as a "throw-away" (not a good thing to do anyway), but it is enough inexpensive that if you lost it or had it damaged while on an excursion, most of us wouldn't be too sad.

This little speaker is portable and lasts a really long time. It says splash proof which is right. But it’s not water proof. Took this on a float trip and ended up flipping over our boat and the speaker sunk to the bottom. It did not last. Upon retrieving the speaker it was dead. Never came back on. So it’s a very good speaker charge last a long time but defiantly not waterproof.

I normally rate the sound quality of speakers like this in relation to the price paid for it. Sound quality is much better than the speaker inside my phone, and the price is not up in the Bose range. That's why I don't expect Bose quality. As some other reviewers have written, it won't be a huge financial loss if you lose this speaker on an outing.This speaker is water resistant but not waterproof. One reviewer wrote that he used it in the shower, and that might work if it's not put directly under a stream of water. I use mine in the bathroom, but not directly inside the shower. Still the bathroom can get pretty steamed up, so I'll be happy if it holds up to that kind of humidity or if I get caught in the rain on a hiking trail.Pairing the speaker to my phone was a snap, and the battery life is really good.Really, you can't go wrong buying this speaker. It would make a great gift for someone.
