Fine camping cookware...
The Sea to Summit Detour Stainless Steel Collapsible Pot, with a capacity of 5 liters, is designed with a silicone midsection that enables the pot to collapse to less than half its height. The silicone is high-quality, food-grade material and can withstand boiling temperatures, although it’s not intended for direct flame exposure. The pot's base, rim and lid are made of stainless steel, making the pot capable of being used indoors on an induction stove. In contrast to Sea to Summit’s entirely aluminum cookware, this collapsible pot lacks a non-stick coating in its base. Its primary function is for boiling rather than frying food. This pot can be nested within larger cookware from the Sea to Summit Detour range, and Sea to Summit dishes and utensils can also fit inside this pot when it’s collapsed.I received this cookware from Amazon’s Vine program in exchange for a review. I'm not going to complain about such quality cookware (especially cookware I received for free), but as a longtime camper in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, I feel I shouuld share my thoughts on the use of this pot and other collapsible pots in Sea to Summit's Detour and Frontier lines.Despite the innovative design of Sea to Summit's collapsible pots, I probably prefer Sea to Summit’s superbly built fully anodized aluminum cookware, which also nests but includes a non-stick ceramic coating. For larger groups and frying food, these silicone-sided pots may not be your best choice. Eventually, the efficiency of nesting larger pots can rival having multiple collapsible pots of different sizes. While these pots are undoubtedly cool, for larger groups and non-ultra-lightweight camping, I’d recommend Sea to Summit’s rigid aluminum cookware. However, these pots do come with a great lifetime warranty. If a collapsible pot will meet your needs, you’re sure to appreciate the pot itself.

Quality gear
Sea to Summit makes quality gear, although you will pay a premium price for it. This is a versatile 3 qt pot in that it can cook on a gas stove and then clean up and collapse down to store in your cook gear. I can't imagine backpacking with it, as it weighs just slightly under 2 lbs, but for camping it's great. Food can be stored in it fully expanded or even with it collapsed. I put pre-cut food pieces in it as storage at the beginning of the trip in my cooler, and it transitioned to cook pot and then to storage pot easily. A very versatile piece of gear in my "chuck wagon" tub. For two people, we transferred our dehydrated bagged meals into the pot and added our water there and let it steam. It was a lot nicer stirring the meal to completion and eating food out of a pot instead of a plastic cook-bag. It made the whole dehydrated meal experience better, since I like taking dehydrated bagged meals for convenience and weight at least half the time if camping for several days.I took a star off for the handle design, it actually took a couple minutes to figure out how they work, how the tabs wants to push in to release, it wasn't intuitive or quick. They do function as good handles, tho, and then secure as lid-locking tabs when turned around. All around a good piece of gear to have in my cooking tools and I would definitely gift this item to a friend.

Excellent cook pot for camping
Sea to Summit has become one of my favorite outdoor brands - I don't think I've encountered any dud products from them. This collapsible pot is no exception.I was a little nervous about the possibility of the camp stove burner's flame extending too far and impinging on the silicone so I carefully gave it a test at home first and monitored the temperatures. I ran the burner on its highest setting and had no problems at all.Their smaller collapsible cook set *sort of* nests inside this one - it works if you expand the pot but sadly they don't all neatly fit together collapsed. The quality is top notch, the handles are really secure (don't forget to put them on *before* you start cooking) and they've clearly put a lot of attention into the details of the design.

Ordered out of curiosity
Packaging says that it 5L (1.1kg, 2lb 7oz) with a 3 ply base. Also that it is BPA PFSA and PTFE free. The colander/sides are silicone and it has "click safe handles". It also reads that it is induction and gas cooktop compatible. The instructions are in multiple languages on the box. Definitely giftable, especially for someone with a small apartment or tiny house or a college student.I wasn't expecting the instructions to also be etched in the bottom side of the pan. It is easy to use if you have both hands in terms of clicking the handles. The lid slides out to reverse the handle direction. Handles must push towards the bowl to release and pull out.I have not yet used it yet because I have been mad busy at work. I will update my review once I do.

Genius Collapsible Design and Perfect for Cooking On a Camp Stove
This collapsible pot is perfect for backpacking and camping and works wonderfully with a camp stove! I really like this pot because I can store the Sea to Summit collapsible kettle and bowls inside. The compact form factor of this pot and other Sea to Summit collapsible items is super important because I try to carry gear in the smallest bag I can when backpacking. Not only that, but it's super lightweight and versatile. I can cook small meals for myself and larger meals for multiple people, and then when I'm finished cleanup is a breeze because the stainless steel and silicon are easy to wash out. Everything about this pot is well-designed and practical for backpacking and outdoor cooking. I'm very pleased with the performance and versatility of this pot and I highly recommend it to other outdoor enthusiasts!
