One of the sides got bent.
I noticed today that one of the blades got bent. I tried to bend it back and it snapped.

Good Nippers, But Be Aware of Limitations …
This nipping tool is great for use on most standard model sprues, but the blade is extremely delicate, and attention must be paid to the thickness of the plastic being nipped.WHAT YOU GETThis nipping tool measures at 5 ¼” long with a handle thickness of ½”. The nipping end consists of 2 blades a little under ½” long. Both blades are flat on the bottom, but one is thicker and angles while the other “cutting” blade is flat. The tool comes packaged in a box with a molded slot that serves as a protective “case” for the tool when not in use.HOW IT PERFORMSWhen unboxed, the tool will naturally open … the gap at the bottom of the nippers will naturally open to ~ 5” with the blades opening to ~ ½”. Little pressure is needed to close the tool and there is a 1” gap at the bottom when fully closed. The open/closing mechanism is very smooth and the blades meet evenly from top to bottom. I found the riveted plastic top and bottom pieces on the handles to provide a decent grip but would have preferred them to be rounded and “grippier” for better handling. These work great for nipping the plastic sprues of standard modeling kits that I occasionally build (tanks and planes) and provide a nice, precision cut. These are advertised to work with cutting sprues that are less than 3mm in diameter and when you see the thinness of the cutting blade, you’ll understand that attempting to nip anything too thick will definitely damage or completely break the blade.

Well constructed but delicate, not a general purpose snipping tool.
This is an interesting tool that has an oddly conflicted design: on the one hand it is very robust, on the other, it has delicate blades that require the utmost of control. It is NOT a general purpose snipping tool that you should apply to resin, etc. The recommended cutting width is < 3mm, and ONLY on the types of soft plastic used for models. The tool itself is constructed out of steel with plastic handles riveted on. The overall look is quite striking in comparison to the typical soft handles on snipping tools. The spring action works well, and the blades are stopped in their expansion by a simple plastic cylinder. The hinge is a fairly straightforward affair.Where it gets interesting is the blade geometry. Hard for me to capture on my cell phone, but these are EXTREMELY thin blades. You need to be careful to use the minimum amount of force in closing them, since the tool does not appear to have a stop mechanism apart from the blades coming into contact with each other. They are so thin that even a slight twist may break the thin knife edge. On my pair the blades are perfectly aligned.I would think of these as a replacement for an x-acto blade in a sense. You don't twist or bend an x-acto or thin knife blade as you cut. This tool can be used to precisely shave off soft remnants, to cut through soft plastic parts, etc.It requires a steady hand and a lot of restraint. I'd use this in addition to a regular set of snippers.

Buttery smooth great construction
The media could not be loaded. Â Out the gate this will be compared to a god hand. I don't have much experience with that specific product, but I will say it is much better then a cheap pair of double blade nipper. It cuts buttery smooth, feels good in the hand and leaves very nice clean looking cuts with less plastic stress then you will see on a double blade nipper. It is full tang with a nice feeling softish plastic handle and a good spring action. If I have any complaints it will be how wide the blades are even closed. I understand they need to do this to as strength to the nippers, however for some more oddly positioned parts on runners, I can see it being difficult to get into those slots.Don't toss out your cheap double blade nippers(they have their uses) but definitely give these a try if you are in the market for double blade nippers.
