Noodles
Plenty of power to extrude the dough. Easier to clean than I thought. Nice apartment of dies. I need a better dough recipe, when making rigatoni the cutter crimped the one end plus my noodles collapsed. I don't blame the tool, I think it worked just fine. Got it on a flash sale so a good value.Update. It was my dough. Just had a delicious spaghetti supper with fresh noodles.

A fun attachment but really frustrating to get to a point where I could use it
When I first opened this package I was extremely frustrated because there was no included recipe. So I went to the Kitchen Aid website and Googled that recipe. I learned that the recipe included with the Kitchen Aid branded pasta extruder recipe caused many people to return their attachments, so I went in search of a better recipe.Next I tried to open/unlock my extruder to clean it before use. There is nothing in the directions to indicate how the parts come apart, and mine absolutely did NOT want to twist open. I actually figured I would end up breaking it trying to get it to unlock so I could wash it. After a lot of force, I did get the top to twist off the bottom of the extruder (note that I had several people stronger than me try to pen it and all concluded it was not going open….). Hint: be careful about which parts you immerse or send through the dishwasher. The plastic parts are dishwasher safe, the part that attaches to your mixer shaft is not.Now I had to learn what size balls of dough are appropriate for the attachment. Hint: the balls should be about the size of walnuts.Multiple batches of failed dough and 2 dozen eggs later, I had my first batch of usable extruded pasta. Now I am hooked. I will be making pasta regularly. A few more hints from my pasta extrusion experiments:- you’ll always waste some pasta dough that doesn’t come out of the auger/spinning part of the attachment- after the pasta is extruded, liberally dust it with corn starch to keep it from sticking together (both before and during cooking)- fresh pasta only cooks for a very brief time. Use a timer, and watch your pot of pasta boil- it takes a LOT of salt in the water- don’t pour homemade pasta into a strainer when it is done. Remove it with chopsticks, tongs or a pasta scooper after testing for doneness.- add hot pasta directly to hot sauce immediately after it is removed from boiling water- unlock and separate the pieces, remove and toss any large chunks of dough then leave the pasta extruder to dry out and dehydrate, at least overnight. This makes any remaining dough a lot easier to remove, and takes a lot less effort to clean up.This is a fun attachment, but the effort to get started was frustrating, wasteful and time consuming. I’m dropping 2* because of the challenge in getting the pieces apart and the lack of a starter recipe.

Yet another tool
This Kitchen-Aid is just a do-everything tool, and this is just one more for the toolbox. Although you have to keep adding the pasta dough as you go--there isn't a big tube to put a bunch in at once. That does keep you from looking like Lucy in the factory, with pasta shooting out too quickly. We've used it for spaghetti, the most versatile (and easiest!) pasta shape.

Directions need improvement
First, I must say that this pasta attachment works well. I was able to make nicely shaped pasta. However, I have used pasta attachments before and have my own recipes. That said, the attachment works with my appliance and extruded the pasta dough evenly. It is a bit tricky to clean.

Works as well as the brand name
We haven't had any issues with this pasta attachment. I'd wanted to try one for years so I jumped on this when it came up. As others have said, disassembling to clean is a bit dicey. Usage definitely takes a little practice. But for what it costs, as compared to name brand, it's worth a shot.

Amazing pasta attachment
We just started making homemade pasta at home, and this pasta attachment has been excellent. KitchenAid Mixers are known for their ability to have attachments, and I am very pleased with this one. The process is not difficult and we were able to make homemade pasta fairly quickly. I'm very pleased with this and I plan on making more.

Frustrated
This is so hard to take apart to clean I almost threw it away. I still can’t get it, so my husband has to. I’m hoping when we take our cooking classs in Italy, I will get a great recipe, because there’s nothing included with this.
