This was a replacement for a porch light that started going on the blink - literally!It was relatively easy to put up if you have some basic DIY skills and a few tools (including a drill), and is held reasonably securely although it relies on 2 anchor points instead of 4 which makes it a little wobbly against the wall. The adjustments to the sensor are really easy to do with little dials on the outside of the unit. I have found it no problem to adjust both how sensitive to light it is (so that it only goes on in the dark) and how long it stays on for. It is also handy to have the IP44 rating making it safe for outdoor use.It was also a plus to find that it is compatible with an energy saving 60 watt equivalent LED bulb since the light goes on a fair amount. The light it gives is more than adequate for the area and not too annoying for the neighbours.A perfect replacement for the place I needed it for.

Good, well made and sturdy product. Nice clear instructions means it's fairly easy to set up. The 60 watts bulb means it gives a more gentle illumination than the alternative harsh halogen lights, this is just right for gentle illumination of the garage door area when I turn onto the drive and I am not blinded by dazzling light. Not recommended if you want to flood your back garden with light, but you have to consider your neighbours and one of these lights may be more neighbourly. It takes the smaller size of bulb, take the diagram supplied with it to the hardware shop when you buy the bulb.

I have purchased tweo of these units which have been fitted close to the front and rear entrance of our home. Both give a very adequate amount of light and are currently set to a sensitivity level which means they detect our arrival or departure from either door at a useful distance. This means we have time and light to insert the correct key in the lock. The neighbours cats appear not to notice them but the lights come on everytime they cross our patio. The winter months will test the degree of water resistance which these fittings have because we are located high up on the hills in Somerset and the wind and rain lashes our property!

Had to return it could not get the cover of but did get a refund with no bother

Basically, you are expected to assemble the light once the base is in situ. This means you are working at head height, or on a ladder, out of doors, carrying out quite a delicate procedure. I could only manage it on a bench by assembling it on a wooden base and then simply securing that base to the structure. To make matters worse, one of the "press studs" on the connection block did not work, so I ended up splicing the wires and throwing the block away.

Easy to fit.Easy to adjust.Does the job well.

Difficult to see the small switches to alter time and daylight variations, particularly at night when the light is on.
