This quick-release mini-pen from SZHOWORLD is quite a charmer, and it is both functional AND fun. It’s petite size is fine for me, since it is intended to be an EDC champ, a pen that you can connect to your key ring without creating bulk, or carry (without risk of injury!) in a front pocket. Most clever of the design is the quick-release key ring: since the pen is of the bolt action variety, once you “open” the pen to write the quick release “releases”! If you choose to connect the small keyring to your ring of keys, then it will stay connected until you close and connect your pen to its mate.The pen itself has some style and “pizazz” - it looks great, and has a knurled grip that prevents it from slipping out of (even) large hands. Colors? Yes, it comes in BRASS or RETRO BLACK. If you don’t like the quick-release feature, you can get a fixed key ring in either color (the key ring can still be removed, it just doesn’t have the quick-release feature).Just a note of consideration: if you DO have large hands, and if those hands cramp up when handling a small device over a long period of time, you MAY want to consider this as a pen for “emergency use” only, though it makes a great addition to most EDC “kits”.The package comes with one refill, and SZHOWORLD also sells a pack of 5 refills for $8.

I have another pen from this same company that will rapidly disassemble itself if you move the bolt in the wrong way (to the disassembly position). While having it barf its innards everywhere isn't convenient, it manages to feel a bit better in the hand. The quick release mechanism on this is similar to others I've seen and it does work, but I find it's a bit clumsy unless you have small fingers.

I love brass and this pen doesn't disappoint. It is small -- the kind of pen you might use for EDC (every day carry) -- and with the detachable feature, it could be hung on a backpack strap or ring, etc. It seems nicely machined with minimal sharp edges (though could use a bit of extra chamfering at the bolt area). In any case, can't complain much for the price. Good little pen!

The size is just about perfect for a small pen, and it’s milled from a piece of brass, so it’s heavy duty. This pen looks and feels great, and writes just perfect. I hope to find ink refills for this but the one it comes with is just fine.

i got this thinking at the worst it is another pen i can use...... but man was i surprised at the actually quality of this pen...... it feels great...... very solid build..... i wish there was another way to unlatch the pen instead of the pen bolt ( which puts the pen in the writing mode).... you have to close the pen in order to get it to go back together..... not a deal breaker but depending on what you attach the pen to you might not need to separate it every time..... but it still looks nice and works great...... a very nice little travel pen for the money

This "quick release" pen is very easy to use, but when you choose to write with it, it disconnects from the keychain to make it ready to write. It is easy to lose/misplace due to size, so I recommend placing it in a very safe spot and probably connect it to a bag you want to keep the chain part on. So, you remember to reattach it to the bag after each use. It's really up to you. I just wished the quick release was a bit better designed. But, overall it works and is easy to be held by adults/kids with various hand sizes and writes well.

This keychain is nice because whenever I need a pen I can pull out my keychain and have one ready.

Pretty sweet little pen. The action is smooth. The weight is nice. Brass should patina nice over time. The only little thing I personally don't like, to activate the pen requires the quick release to release the pen...which I mean it makes sense. I was just hoping it was a little different.
