Probably similar to many, I've used halogen work lights, a couple mounted on a tripod as well as a single halogen. At times I will paint various rooms in my house, or in someone else's house, so it's very helpful to have good illumination especially during periods of little to no outside light.This work light is lightweight, and easy to carry around. This light seems to weigh only a few pounds, and it can be folded flat for storage.In one of my rooms, which measures about 13' x 13', this light was excellent at lighting up a wall. If the description is correct in that the light has a color temperature of 6500K, then this light is very close to natural daylight.Since I have LEDs of various types already (e.g., flashlights, headlights), I was surprised at how much heat this light produces. Within five minutes, the rear heat sink was quite hot, not something you'd want to touch. Thus, don't put the light near anything flammable. Note that I looked at other LED work lights, of similar lumen ratings, and I read how they too generate noticeable heat, so this work light is not unusual in this regard, it just surprised me that LED lights could become hot.The description says the light draws 150 watts, as does a sticker on the back of the light. And they are correct: I measured 156 watts. (Remember when we used to use 150w incandescent light bulbs?!)The description says the cord is 157.5 inches. I measured 154" (plus or minus a bit), so their description is accurate on this too.Some work lights don't have switches, so you turn on the light by plugging it in, and likewise pull the plug to turn it off. This work light has an on/off switch on the cord, an appreciated feature.I did not test the waterproof rating, which the description says is IP66. IP stands for "Ingress Protection," and the first digit indicates protection from dust, and the second digit indicates protection from water. With regards to dust, 6 = "No ingress of dust; complete protection against contact (dust-tight)." With regards to water, 6 = "Water projected in powerful jets (12.5 mm (0.49 in)) against the enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effects." So it should be fine to use the light in light rain, but it certainly cannot be immersed in water. But note that the include manual states the following: "The light is IP66 waterproof, but the plug is nonwaterproof. Please connect the plug indoor or connect to a socket that provides IP65 protection."Overall, this is a very nice work light, much better than the halogen lights commonly used in the past. If you haven't switched to an LED work light yet, go for it!

The main thing about this light is that it is super bright, surprisingly bright for LED lights, you dont expect this brightness from LED.Its in a tough, waterproof metal case and the LEDs are much more sturdy then the quartz halogen trouble light I had in the past.It has a built in heat sink but it doesnt get that hot, certainly no where near as hot as the old quartz halogen.It folds up nice and compact.This is great trouble light

I have been working with a halogen light for so many years and have been looking for a replacement. And I have found it.This LED light packs a powerful light illumination that has about the same intensity as my old halogen at 500 watts equivalent. But it only consumes 50 watts of power. If you want to light up an area like a garage, it may not be effective but within a working range of 5 to 8 feet it is great. It does give off heat enough so that is uncomfortable to touch. So be aware of this.It is lightweight with a frame similar to my halogen. I like this stand because you a lock it into position. and can be adjusted on tilt and elevation very easily.The long power cord at about 13 ft is a great additional feature.Although it says it is waterproof you have to understand the rating. With this rating, it can withstand a jet of water directed at it certain distance and area, but cannot withstand immersion in water.Overall, this is the work light that now replaces my old halogen.

I often do various small projects that need good illumination. I was thinking of wiring some extra lights into the garage. But with this LED work light in hand, I do not have to. The light is thin and tiltable; I can point it towards the wall or ceiling to get shadowless illumination.This LED worklight from Ouside is light, bright and portable. We get a lot of light for 100 watts power consumption. But the light does get hot. The cord is 4 meters (12') long, with a switch. The light comes in a not-too-thick flat box, with the stand disassembled.This is a good versatile light for home projects and home gathering
