If you think all waffles taste the same, especially if made from a mix, be prepared to be delightfully surprised. Carbon's waffles taste fantastic, and they smell great while cooking. Carbon's waffles are our go-to feature when doing a family or neighborhood brunch, and everyone always wants to know our "secret" recipe. Seriously, Carbon's is that good. Amazon used to be a good place to buy Carbon's mix, but it seems that the company is now favoring direct sales from their own website. That means that the product offered here is twice as expensive as buying direct from Carbon's, but I can live with that to get the benefit of Amazon's faster delivery. It also means, though, that some of the third-party stock being sold here isn't particularly fresh. The mix we received when we bought here in July was already past its Best By date when it arrived. So although we might order here if we run out and need more fast, in general I've started planning ahead and buying direct from the manufacturer. BTW, Carbon's recently renamed themselves Golden Waffles, after their signature product.

This is the brand better hotels use. I use only this brand and have done so for years. Although more expensive, you get what you pay for. I don’t mind paying for quality product. The cornflour makes a big difference. Waffles are light and airy.

I became obsessed with Carbon's Golden Belgian Mini Waffles after recently having them daily at a hotel breakfast bar. I used syrup on day one, then only butter for the rest of my stay. After returning home, I ordered a professional mini Belgian waffle maker and some Carbon's Golden Waffle mix. I was disappointed that although light, fluffy and golden, the waffles did not have the same depth of flavor and sweetness as the ones at the hotel. Checking the ingredient list on the waffle mix package shows the sugar content is very low. Belgian Waffles typically have a higher sugar content so I can only conclude that a different mix is being used at the hotel. This mix does not specify that it is for Belgian Waffles. A quick look on the Carbon's web site shows they don't have any mixes designated for Belgian Waffles. The only other option is to try a different brand of mix. Bummer.

I haven’t ordered this is a good while. It was wonderful the first time I ordered it. This time it had a different taste and just not the quality the first one had. I probably want order again because of the price also.

This mix is truly the best! The slight malt flavor gives them such a boost ! I’ll never buy any other pancake mix!!

Best crispy waffle mix available

Our family has always loved the waffles when we go on vacation. They were so much better than at home. The malt in this mix gives the waffles a unique flavor. We are so happy to have it now at home.

This was tasty but not very malty. I didn’t taste any malt at all. I may add a little vanilla next time I make the waffles. Kind of pricey for what it is.
