VANGUARD Skullcap 1703 Beanie Hat

I purchased this item after a winter cycle-ride where every down hill felt like a hellish ice-cream brain freeze.When the cap arrived it seemed very thin and I was dubious of whether it would be effective, the proof was in this week's ride: its thinness meant it went under my cycle helmet comfortably, at higher speeds my head feels comfortably cool but this just proves that the cap is wicking away the perspiration and the lightly padded ear flaps keep my ears out of the wind as well as attentuating some of the wind noise. In summary a brilliant product and when the weather warm up, it will easily fit into a pocket.

The hat was good at the beggining, later on stretched too much.Now it doesn't cover ears well and it is really thin!It is ok, but not great.Not suitable for winter.

So pleased with this hat. After an hours ride out, a few weeks into December, i returned home feeling as if my ears had fallen off 5 miles away from home! I ordered this hat that evening and was over the moon with it! Fits comfortably under my helmet and snuggly over my ears. The straps of the helmet hold the flaps in place. I didnt find my hearing affected and if anything, was slightly better as didnt experience the 'whoosh' of wind from all directions!!

Does the job perfectly. Slim fit, flat seams. Ear flaps don't lift up: helmet straps keep them in place. I can only assume that the one-star reviewer doesn't wear a lid!

feels a bit big, but apart from that its ok,has'nt been cold yet! today the weather has turned so here goes!

Does what you want very easy to use and very warm, easy to store if not in use. Worth the money.

I bought this to go under my cycle helmet in the winter. It keeps my ears warm and stop my helmet from getting sweaty.
