Really good, straightforward beginners Tai Chi book with a health twist.
The author of "Mind, Body and Spirit" is a China-trained Chinese medical practitioner in addition to being a very experienced Tai Chi teacher, and it really shows. The book gets right to the heart of Tai Chi and what it offers to the world in terms of a healthier, stress reduced lifestyle. The method of presenting the Tai Chi form is well thought out and easy to follow, and the instructional photography is also clear and precise. All in all a very easy to follow, well presented introduction to Tai Chi and its health related aspects. Highly recommended.

Good health in small doses...
Donald Kerr's book is for those people who wish to get fit but are not fitness fanatics. It will teach you how to exercise and maintain a daily regime which is realistic. His advice is particularly useful in this day of the sedentary workplace, to those who suffer from back ache or RSI. Kerr suggests a series of exercises which you will be able to do at work to relieve your pain or to alleviate stress. Not least this book takes away the mysticism of the Chinese practices of Pa Taun Chin, Chi Kung and Tai Chi itself. The author makes these exercises and practices accessible to all in a clear and user-friendly manner. The illustrations are superb and any beginner will have the satisfaction of being able to learn a short version (4 minutes) of a Tai Chi form. The author says that good health is something individuals need to take ownership of - this book goes a long way towards guaranteeing that.
