I have been producing hydroponic lettuce for twelve years now. In the past I've used kids pools to float a Styrofoam raft with holes cut for net pots outside. The past six years I've gone to totes and used the Kratkey method inside. I'm older now and need to scale down and still produce six heads a week. I thought Id try this unit and maybe produce even more product in a smaller footprint. I started it up on September 1st with two week old starts, today September 14 I harvested my first heads off of it. I'm harvesting salad bowl, simpson now, the cos is doing fine but still another two weeks to go. I'm so happy!Set up was simple though the instructions are a little misleading, but just watch the video you will be OK. I believe the price point is about right. I bought the three tiered unit, 42 pods but remember after the lettuce gets bigger you will have to skip two or so holes for room to grow. If your thinking about starting out in hydroponics this is the kit for you. I did not used the supplied nutrients as I use Master Blend and have for twelve years and it has never failed me.I set mine up as a sequential plantings. Plant each level every 10 days and you will have approx 6 heads of lettuce each of the 10 days. PS though it isn't necessary for good growth I did add a small 1 inch air stone to the bottom tank and have it timed for 12 hr on and 12 hr off. Past tests I've conducted really showed it improves leaf size.Well I'm rambling now soHappy hydroing

The directions are missing leading but just watch the video to assemble. The lights do slide but simply wrap the lights around the pole and that works fine. I enjoy the water sound but the directions lack what to do after the 30 days to the water. I will more than likely change it out after a month with the new solution and go from there. Still great product and good results for a first time grow. Make sure to put tomatoes on the higher rack as they get tall if you don't grow the mini tomatoes.

Put the whole unit together just to find the pump was not moving water . Now the task of taking it apart a tempt to get it back in the boxes for return, time consuming and not easy !

The media could not be loaded. I am new to the hydronics space, but overall, really impressed with the high quality set up that has everything you need to get started for a full hydroponic grow tower as well as a soil-based grow tower with self-watering functionality. The fact that they included both options is clever and allows for more garden versatility.Overall, assembly was very straight as long as you use the video on the product page. The included instructions can be a bit difficult to follow otherwise. I recommend getting a level and a rubber mallet to ensure that your set up is level and durable.Be sure to save all of the twist ties that come around the various components to use as a cord management system after.

I had wanted an all-in-system but didn't want to build one on my own. Overall design is nice, though like others have pointed out, some what flimsy. The biggest issue is that the included pump is no where near powerful enough to send the water from the bottom tray to the top. Very disappointing because if it worked it would be a great setup with timers and everything built in. Because of this I had to buy a new pump and new timer. Add in an optional air pump and some air stones and all the sudden this all in one system be came a D.I.Y. project. with wires everywhere. Not worth the money when you factor in all the things that you will need to buy to make this work as intended.

Had an issue with carrier damaging first order, they replaced it immediately and works great.

Got it set up and running with my first batch of lettuce sprouting. So far everything seems great. Built in timers make it easy to use.
