Gave as a gift so don't know about cleaning. Recipient loved it!!!

There is no return on this. The box arrived perfect, but when opened the one salt block is all broken up. Other than that it is exactly as the pictures shown.The product was not wrapped inside the amazon box. it was sliding around all over and no bubble wrap etc.

Don't run cold water on it when warm, ours cracked.

I would give the Himalayan salt plate a 0 of it had a place to rate of that low !!!!Don't buy the Himalayan salt plate i purchased one and I was tempering it as instructed i put it in my had oven on the lower rack and set the temperature to 170 I increased the eng 50 degrees every 20 minutes until I reached 450 degrees I turned the temperature up to 500 degrees as instructed with in 5 minutes of turning the temperature to 500 degrees it violently.exploded into a hundred pieces this could have been very bad if it I had been cooking on top off !I stove or on my grill and been standing over the salt plate it could have blinded me from pieces of salt being driven into my eyes or worse it could have killed me as the explosion was violent.I t would have been like a salt grande blowing up in my face

Too big, it does what it's supposed to do as far as salt, but it cracked and I heated up very very slow.. as instructions said maybe it was me who knows. So maybe I give you three star

This is my second block. I cooked dozens of meals on the block my wife gave me a year ago. Then my son left it out in the rain and it dissolved! So I bought the Himalayan Chef Himalayan Salt Plate & Holder. I put it on the grill on the lowest setting to season it the same way I seasoned my 1st block. I walked outside and opened the grill an hour latter and as I bent over the grill to inspect it, it blew up in my face with a huge bang!
