Good for the brains of children, adults and the elderly, but NOT for children under 3 yrs!
"CHOKING HAZARD -- Small parts. Not for children under 3 yrs."The booklet is not bi-lingual which I found disappointing even though I'm basically [English] monolingual.I don't see how a 1-3 year old could fit these into their mouth and choke on it. The 2.5yo to whom I handed these obviously didn't even consider putting these in her mouth. Perhaps a boy might chew on them... She wanted to look at the animals and "arrange" them helter-skelter on the floor. I didn't play the memory matching card game with her; we just used them like flash cards, saying the names of the animals.--- Benefits for children: From a young age, memory games can help children learn how to remember, recognize and recall information in an enjoyable manner. Not only do they promote cognitive development, but they also help to improve concentration, creativity and problem-solving skills.Memory games can also help children develop their social skills, as they often need to communicate and influence others in order to succeed. These games help to stimulate their brain and can help them to develop their short-term and long-term memory. The benefits of memory games for children’s development are numerous.--- Benefits for adults: Playing memory games is one of the best strategies for adults to build a strong mind. Memory games enhance brain function, helping adults develop stronger attention, concentration, and focus. They also sharpen an adult’s critical thinking, attention to detail, and visual recognition.--- Benefits for seniors: Forgetfulness is a natural part of aging, but there are many things older adults can do to slow down the process — specifically brain games. Much like physical activity to keep your body in good shape, keeping your brain active is important in all stages of life. Brain games and puzzles serve as excellent mental exercises that can help reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s and dementia, and they’re a great way to improve problem-solving skills.I hope to learn a wee bit of Spanish playing with my grandtoddler, if all we use them for is flashcards.

Beautiful pictures, not entirely bilingual
This Spanish-English Animal Matching Game from Maetrix has 32 sets of animal picture cards, with the animal's name in English on one card and in Spanish on the other card. There are also 4 sets of blank cards if you want to add your own favorite animasl to the game. There are no instructions; they must assume you know the basic rules of playing Memory. For younger kids, just don't use the whole set. Start with 4 or 5 pairs, and increase from there. These cards can also be used to play Go Fish, playing in either language. There are a few errors, including raccoon being misspelled, and the dove being called a pigeon. At first, the booklet with a page for each animal seemed a positive feature. But the vocabulary in the booklet is not written at a kindergarten level, and some grammar was lacking: "The zebra [is] an iconic and majestic member of the equine family..." "Cow is large, domesticated, bovid ungulates, mature female cattle." It is written only in English (many families in our area are Spanish speaking and wanting to learn English!), which is contrary to this being a bilingual activity.Overall, the cards are great for playing Memory and Go Fish; they are thick enough to be easy to pick up and the pictures are clear and distinct. It works for building vocabulary. It's a shame Maetrix didn't apply the same quality standard to the language part as this could have been a spectacular product.

Fun Bilingual Matching Game About Animals
This games is fun for adults and kids alike when they're learning either Spanish or English. There are vivid color images of each animal on the cards and one card has the name of the animal in English and the other has the animal's name in Spanish. Playing the game creates a vivid memory of each animal and its name in both languages. The pieces are thick and well-made. They should hold up easily even to little tots who might not be quite as careful with them as older children would be. It's a purchase that will keep on giving through education.

So good!
This set of memory cards is great! The cards are sturdy, images are clear and vibrant (not some cheap computer print out), and the translations are correct. My little girl still doesn't get the concept of matching things (she is 2), but loves playing with these.

Well Made, Beautiful Pictures
Each of these cards are made from a sturdy material that will take the use and abuse of students in middle school. They love playing this game and it has helped to teach the names of animals in English to all of my ESL students. There are 72 cards (36 pairs) so I divided them up and made 2 sets so more kids could play at once. The pictures of the animals are beautiful and show great detail which also sparks great conversations leading to new vocabulary. There are some spelling errors which is why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars.

Helpful for Reviewing Vocabulary
I am always on the lookout for new ways to get more repetitions for my English learners.

Spelling errors
I went back and forth on how to rate this because, for the most part, it's good, but, because there are spelling errors (both in Spanish and English), I feel that it fails as a learning tool. Fortunately, I am bilingual and can correct the mistakes for my kids, but I wouldn't recommend this as a standalone teaching/learning tool if you aren't bilingual.

Excellent Learning Resource
These are so cool! The pictures on these are great and the translations are also great and are easy to see. i like the game and it has many different animals for the kids and makes a great learning tool that is fun. I also like the additional card you can write on to add a new animal or practice. This was very helpful for my kids who have already learned some Spanish to not forget what they've learned and also learn new ones too. Excellent learning resource.
