5/5 A must read!
It’s a perfect “Millennial Anthem”. Full of humour, romance and grief. The last 20% of the novel keeps you so engrossed as you get to read both the characters perspectives. The main character does lack emotional intelligence. Yet, it gets difficult to take sides. Highly recommend.

Funny, painful
It's all about this stand-up comedian navigating through some seriously rough patches in life, but trust me, it's as hilarious as it is relatable. Dolly really nailed the whole male perspective thing, wrapping it up in this warm, silly embrace that just draws you in. Seriously, I couldn't get enough of it!This guy's journey through the highs and lows of love is like a rollercoaster ride, but in the end, it's all about finding himself. And then bam! Right at the end, we get a sneak peek into Jen's mind, flipping the script on those tired old romance tropes. This book isn't just breaking boundaries; it's shaking up the whole game!

An absolute gem
This is an absolutely touching and mushy story of person who got dumped by the love of his life. Very cathartic and yet so real. Absolutely adored it. Won't be surprised if this turns in to a movie or series.

Jane
first time reading men's pov after breakup and you sympathize with character and find female character bit insensitive but when you read last 20 pages whole scenarios changes about female character

An Honest Review!
What makes this novel stand out is Alderton's ability to craft complex characters. Andy's journey is not just about healing from a breakup but also about self-discovery and understanding the nuanced dynamics of his relationship with Jen. The inclusion of Jen's perspective towards the end of the book adds depth and clarity, highlighting that neither party is perfect, and their flaws and strengths are what make them so relatable.Alderton’s portrayal of adult relationships and their inevitable evolution is both realistic and thought-provoking. The humor interwoven with the emotional narrative keeps the story engaging and relatable. Good Material is a must-read for anyone who enjoys stories that are equal parts funny, tender, and deeply human. Alderton proves once again that she is in a league of her own.
