MetaGrip Premium Bob Pins Black

I've gone through a LOT of bobby pins in my life, first as a dancer up to now as a vintage style enthusiast. I usually stick to Goody or Scunci pins; I've seen these for years at Sally's and have always been put off by the price which is on the higher end. But with being down to only ten pins in my makeup table, I checked for the best, most heavy-duty and non slip pins on the market only to be redirected towards Metagrip.They arrived from the US to Europe quickly, a surprise for me since it's been six years since I've gotten a US order within two weeks much less the four days these traveled.Right away these are far heftier at around 30 pins than a pack of 60 Goody or Scunci pins. Out of the box the thickness and quality of the pins is readily apparent; in my photo you can see the Metagrip (top) vs. a Goody pin (bottom) has more waves and thicker metal, as well as a thicker coating that is very grippy and holds tight even on my dense, stick-straight, baby-fine strands. Bending between your fingers to open has a resistance that is surprising if you're used to the flimsier pins that are standard grocery and drugstore fare. These held fast even in the windy, icy, and rainy Belgian winter and through my toddler tugging on my curls a solid ten minutes as he is wont to do.Overall, these live up to the hype. With more use I'm sure some loosening is to be expected, but I'm confident these will last much longer than my thin pins that would completely bend out of shape and become useless in only a few uses. These are excellent sturdy, heavy-duty non-slip pins and I'll definitely be purchasing more!
