Superb.
Bought this to treat our summer house. It is ideal for the job. We used it last year - half of our summer house faces the sun, the rest is overshadowed by a very large silver birch, so is prone to drying out on one side and algae on the other. Barrettine has kept it in good condition for the last 7 years with one annual coat. It is very thin, almost water-like in consistency, and goes on very easily with a brush. I cover the surrounding area with dust sheets/protective covers as any drips do stain paving slabs, etc. It goes a long way, the guidance for coverage on the tin is about right. It can be used alone, as we do, or it can have a layer of a different product on top, depending on what finish you require. Barrettine have a web site with good details of how to use it. Price via Amazon was very good but it is available on line from a range of suppliers.

Excellent product
Have used this product for about 12 years Initially I found it difficult to apply as it was very 'splashy'.This latest batch (has it been reformulated?) was a joy to use giving a superb finish to the wood. It is expensive but hopefully will be worth it.

Perfect choice - Great to look at and protected from rot and infestations.
I wanted a one-coat, low odour, oil-based (for good absorption) brown coloured wood preservative. Having looked at all of the option the Barrattine product ticked all the boxes. My shed is around 10x8 ft and I managed with one and a third 5L tins. I can always use the remainder to re-coat the more vulnerable areas in a couple of years.I tried spraying but the over-spray was a problem. However I managed with a combination of brush and roller. The finish is darker than the suggested colour, however, the wood type and finish governs the final hue. Do wear old clothes when using, and also have plenty of dust sheets available. The one solvent that quickly removes spills and spots is acetone - available in pure form from Amazon. My shed looks almost like new and I'm delighted.

Easy to use, value for money wood preservative.
Easy to apply, giving a good finish that is long lasting. Product is value for money as a little goes a long way compared to some other wood preservative products.

Great preserver, poor delivery.
The wood preserver itself seems to work excellently. We used to treat our garden furniture after the supplier recommended this treatment. After two coats the furniture was beading water nicely. I can't comment on the longevity of the treatment however.Delivery of the treatment was quick, however it was not well package and as a result the tin arrived very battered and deformed. As a result it was impossible to pour the treatment into a container to treat the wood without it pouring all over the patio.
