This mallet is one-piece. It is heavy and substantial. It works great for tenderizing meat. Just what I wanted. Stainless steel does not interact with the food and can be cleaned really well .

This is just what I wanted. The grip on it works for me, so it’s easy for me to use. It’s not too heavy for my arthritis. It crushes garlic, breaks ice down, flattens meat. I love it!

It seems to be actually stainless steel. Good size and shape.

I do not normally write reviews, but I had to for this gadget. I had a sealed jar of honey that I purchased from a local fair/market which I could not get open. I had my adult son try, and another friend try. We used all the homemade tricks such as running the jar under hot water, tapping the top of the lid with a utensil and using a rubber jar opener for grip. We could not get the jar open. I purchased this jar opener, hoping that it would do the trick, and after a couple of tries the jar opened! I was not sure that it would do what it said it was going to do, but I’m extremely happy that it worked and highly recommend this handy kitchen gadget.

This is handy for "smashing" things like garlic cloves and air fryer plantains. It is a nice weight and an attractive tool and washes easily.I have not tried using it with meat.

Works great to tenderize meats cuts that tend to be tough. Just enough weight to do the job but not hard to handle.
