No fault so far
The bulb is glass I think, or could be plastic. The massive aluminium heat sink is reassuring. Not that general LED bulbs will overheat, but they need a large sink to draw heat from the tiny light elements to preserve their long life. I use one of them in recessed ceiling fixtures so the bigger the heat sink at the base, the better I feel. The motion detector works too well for me. If the bulb is somewhat near the door, the light will turn on well before you get through the door. That means if you are just passing but not getting in, the light will turn on.The color temperature is stated as 6500K that is cooler than daylight. 5000K is daylight when the sun is out. It's over 6000K when it's bright outdoor but no sun. Your room will look the same if you have a large window letting in natural light when there is overcast. I picked the color because it's cheaper and doesn't matter for my application. And because of the color temperature, I feel that the bulb is bright than it is.I do not know if the light sensor works. All my outdoor fixtures have sensors already and are difficult to switch bulbs. For indoors, the bulb will still switch on even when the sun is strong outside and I have big windows. I think it only make sense for the light sensor to work outdoors with direct bright natural light falling on the sensor. For indoors, if you have a bright light right in the next room, it doesn't make sense that the bulb will not turn on.The bulb should be placed where people doesn't hang out. Most sensor detect body motion, not just body heat, so if you stay still enough for a minute, the light will go off. The room shouldn't be too big, and if people walk by all the time, the door should be normally closed. The best place will be the laundry room. I have a different motion sensor in the bathroom but I set the stay on time to be 5 minutes. I won't put this bulb with 1 min stay on time in the guest bathroom or kids bathroom. The bulb is instant on, actually better than that. If the door is open, the bulb will turn on well before you enter. If the door is closed, the light will turn on when you open the door.I would like to put the bulb in a corridor, and lit up only when people walk right under it. But it doesn't work that way. The bulb will lit up when people walk near the corridor, not just right under it. May be a custom shade may work to reduce the detection area.Update:The one I reviewed was shipped from China. I got another one from US that doesn't work at all, without the brand on the bulb as shown and generic white box. It was more expensive without the wait. It was lighter and made noise when you shake it. Are they faking Taiwanese/Chinese brands now?

Works good
At first I did not think it was going to work out, I installed the light in a closet 5' x 4', it was day time, and found that the light does not work well, or at all in sun light, but at night it works great. So if the closet door is open during the day, and the light shuts off it will not come back on verry good, if at all, but if the door is closed which allows the closet to be dark it works just fine. It does just what I need it too, which is come on when I open the closet door and go off after I close it. It picks up motion from a long ways a way, and does not work in sun light.

Great sensitivity, VERY white light
this item came as described and promptly. Be aware that as described, the bulb is 6500° K. I used it for a utility closet where the pull string is difficult to reach, so it was fine, but I wouldn't describe it as a "pleasing" light color. Great for work areas, and very convenient.

The build quality is OK (it works after 2 months) ...
The build quality is OK (it works after 2 months), however there are some issues:- The sensor is very short distance. I have to approach to 4-5 ft to activate it.- It is not very bright, but it is OK for small space.

in driveway above cars
perfect for temporary light when you need it. i have a light in the basement that has no switch. luckily it is left in the on position. instead of 100% of the time on or off i ordered this bulb. it has a blue tint at the lower level picks movement up quickly and shuts itself off when no movement is detected in 1 minute. a green alternative to my dilemma before.

Not bad, works well in dark.
Motion sensing is tricky, sometime it works but not accurate if room is already bright enough with little daylight.

Like the other review
Purchased in April 2014. Worked ok for about 2 months then stopped working. Now trying to figure out how to get a warranty replacement. Like the other review, mine had zero markings of any kind. I wonder if I received the intended product or a poor quality substitute.

Such a good idea, pity that their quality is poor
Such a good idea, pity that their quality is poor.Yes, its an LED, saves on power, good for the world etc. However, it should come on after dark, not in full sunlight.i.e. the movement sensor works, but the bulb comes on in full day light.
