15jun16 Review:Serious issue...dont purchase now!!!.....continuation, 28jun16: final verdict
This review will surely help in making a decision on buying this phone!!!Those who want a short review or final verdict pls scroll down to the last since this a elaborated review...My suggestion to people who review, please use this mobile properly before reviewing....most of the reviews looks written as soon as they got it in hand...I dont understand y people give 4stars or 5 stars and say its camera lags, heats up? Then y the hell u purchase high end feature phone to just have calling feature for 15k.... this is really funny :D 1100 would do the job...This is my review after 4 days use.First of all i should say phone looks wonderful and having good features on paper....i really loved it on hands the first day b4 i started exploring it....But sadly this phone has serious heating problem....-for normal use it is fine. But if you use camera for 10mins continously then it will start lagging with temp 48 deg and thus no use of having such a good camera....and also u have to keep ur phne to cool down after this...-for gaming this is never recommended, because max u can play for half an hour. Ur phone reaches upto 50deg.My suggestion not to order now. May be if people stop buying then moto might rectify this issue fast with an update if possible or else they will never do it....This problem is faced on all g4 sets and i think no buyer would deny this point. If this problems cannot be rectified by moto then please note this phone is not worth buy for 15k.Other features excellent!!!Go for j7....no major issues faced yet in j7... i wont suggest any chinese mobiles as their service is the worst....Ull regret ur purchase if u order now...please wait for the update from moto...This is a genuine review...If found helpful pls hit the button below ;)Review update: 18june2016Good news for moto lovers :)Im happy that moto has sent some updates few days before and the phone performance has improved a bit...and the heating while gaming has reduced a lot....also camera quality has improved a lot with no lags, but still heating with reduced heat....Waiting for more updates from moto... and i m increasing my rating from 1 to 3 star...Stay connected with this review for further updates.... enjoy!!!Review 28 june:I have updated all most of my apps to latest by now. Now i would recommend to any1 as it is giving great performance with decent battery backup. And whoever complaining about notification led i would say, u need not require it as the phone will display it when u lift it up and with a touch u can reach there but u have to cross the authentication so its secure too...Heat issue: really it is unnoticeable after the updates...FYI...heating during turbocharging is very normal and some device might misbehave also. Please dont blame moto for this...If u dnt want ur device not to heat pls use normal charger but u have to keep in charge for more time...Finally go for it guys...[...]

Every device has its pros and cons'!
Writing this review after 3 months of usage…At this point of time there is no perfect device which meets all your expectations, well if it meets then you have to burn a lot of cash on it….!So all the devices out there are good in one or another aspect, you should decide based on your requirements. Here are the few good and bad aspects about this device.Go with this phone if you are looking for below features:Quicker updates, normal usage (calls, text and social media), moderate camera usage, stock android experience and a front facing fingerprint scannerI don’t recommend this phone if you are looking for the below features:Gaming, Extensive camera usage, navigation (absence of compass makes it difficult to navigate). Most importantly don’t go with this if you hate heating up of device.Pros / Good aspects:1. Camera: Moto G4 plus comes with a pretty decent camera, with the help of Laser and PDA it manages to focus quickly. Though the image quality can’t be compared with flagship phones like 6S or S7, it still manages to capture crisp images for your social media or for your memories. (Attached samples for reference)2. Fingerprint scanner: This device packs a very good finger print scanner which never misses out to recognize your finger print (none of the fingerprint scanner will work when your finger is wet). The main advantage of placing the scanner in the front is that you can unlock it even when it is sitting on the desk, so no need to take phone in your hand every time you need to check notification.3. Moto display: If you are looking for a mid-range phone you can’t find always on display to display your notifications or time and date so moto came up with a decent alternative called Moto display, which basically turns on display in black and white mode just to display time and notifications.4. RAM: We all know Android OS needs lots of RAM to open multiple apps without hanging or reloading, moto g4 is offering 3 GB of which it consumes 50 to 65 % in normal use, so there will not be any lag in the usage. (Attached screenshot for reference)5. OS: Motorola gives near stock experience with very few bloatware so there is no question of lag in usage, if you don’t like the stock view then there are hundreds of launcher out there.6. Updates: Motorola will be the second company to give updates to your mobile as soon as its released (First is Nexus). As confirmed by Motorola recently they won’t be giving monthly security updates. If you are so keen about security then go with Nexus.7. Battery: G4 packs a decent battery, it will manage to power up for a day with moderate usage. (Attached screenshot for reference)8. Turbo charger: Turbo charger charges from 0 to 50 % faster (post 50% charging time will increase) though it heats up a bit.Cons / Bad aspects:1. Heating issue: Device heats up till 46 C while charging, gaming and extensive camera usage (more than 5 mins of camera usage) which makes it very uncomfortable to hold it in hand.During normal usage it will stay on 33 C which is pretty decent. (Attached measured temperature for reference)2. Display: Though the resolution is good it still carries a slight yellow tint from its an sisters (G3, G2), though you will be able to notice only when you place another phone next to it.3. Speakers: The disadvantage of placing the earpiece as well as loud speaker in a same module is that, when you are on a call if by mistake it goes on loud speaker mode it will hurt your ears for sure(it happened many times for me). The other thing is that it holds a mono speaker (it will be loud but no stereo effect).4. Sensors: I was surprised to see the price tag with so many features, but when started using it I realised that moto has cut down its costs by removing the sensors which we can’t see externally, it lacks notification LED, magnetometer (compass), temperature sensor etc.

Excellent phone
Upgraded from the Moto G2 to the G4. Arrived in a timely manner and has lived up to my expectations and more. The only function that I haven't fully tested is the camera but the specs look good so I am not anticipating too many disappointments. All in all very happy with the purchase.

4 weeksish and I'm still using it.
4 stars. It's Asia verson, so you will need an adaptor. Also took way longer then quoted. No tracking information. There was a tracking number but it was never updated.
