Leapfrog Read with Me Scout, Multi Color

Such a cute toy..we named it Popins after my little pet dog passed away...so it's so close to us. My 15 months old son loves to play with it.He loves to hear the Intro song again and again.. He adores it like his buddy.Best in every manner.. 😘

It's an amazing toy, it not only teaches the child to read by himself but makes them fall in love with reading. I think they should make more such toys where kids can learn reading.

Extremely disappointed with this product. Bought two of these, one for my daughter and another for my nephew. One worked fine , the other one was defective. The battery cover was missing along with 1 battery. The toy would not make any sound at all. We immediately realised that it was a defective product and wanted to replace it, much to the disappointment of the kids. Amazon only allowed to the process the return with a refund rather than a replacement. So had to return the defective product and buy another one at a higher price!! The refund money was not processed fast enough and we had to pay again for the new toy. The saga continued ....the one we bought at a higher price also arrived defective , low volume and all dirty /faded within the pack. Now I have to return this and get a refund again. My kids have already lost interest in the toy now !! This is completely unacceptable from a reputed seller like amazon. Please make sure that the products are not defective before dispatch , especially toys which are attached with emotions for kids. Utterly disappointed with the service . I have nearly invested 7-8 k and have neither the money on hand or the product

Super cute, my 3 year old still loves Scout to this day, and listens to th sleepy time song before bed.

Scout became my 4 year old son’s best friend straight away. I guess it’s because he does not say “It’s bedtime now” when my son wants one story after another.I could certainly see our husky puppy becoming jealous of him in no time.Scout comes with 5 books which he has cleverly stored in his memory. He also has a very cute bone collar with 5 different numbers with 5 different coloured backgrounds. So if your child wants to read the red book, he should press the red button in Scouts necklace. Then your child will be asked “Tap my head to start reading”My son now says “Mummy why does Scout like me tapping his head so much, tap my head for this, tap my head for that...can’t he see I don’t want to hurt him?” Bless his cotton socks, he has no issues tapping his sisters head when he wants to! ;)Scout is an overall great toy which any child would automatically like. I would personally say that the ideal age for Reading Scout is 3 and 4 years old. When children are starting to read themselves as Scout will motivate them.A great plus for me is that Scout actually speaks and reads British English so it can help any child in Nursery and reception.By pressing his right paw Scout will sing to you. All songs are educational as "Song about Feelings". I would say it has around 3 songs, easy to learn and sing along.By pressing his left paw Scout will say things like "Hi Friend" and "Nice to see you, give me five!"He also has a "press me" area on his back that if touched it will say "I love you", "I like that", "Can I give you a pat too".The top of Scouts head is also interactive with sentences as "You're nice", " I like been friends with you"...Even the heart on his cheek will make this little green chatterbox talk nicely to you...He has the 3 buttons on the side of his collar, power off button, bedtime story time (when his less talkative) and story time ( mode were Scout is more interactive).This Scout version has no personalisation option so it will not learn your child’s name and there are no other books available in he market for him to upgrade his library but it’s a great new educational toy for any home.My son took it to “show and tell” and he says all his class mates were amazed by Scouts Good reading. ;) I wasn’t too amazed when he came more brown than green. Thankfully I was able to clean it with carpet / upholstery spray foam, I used a small hand towel to remove the dirt and I actually hair dried it at medium setting.Next day my son saw him and said “Well Scout I can see mummy has made you have a shower eh”Scout has helped my son in his love for books, he’s talking and reading a lot more since Scout has been at home and it’s still one of his favourite toys after month's.I would recommend this toy to any mum or dad. My son has various leapfrog toys and loves them. His favourite one was My Pal Scout until this puppy scout came along.The puppy read with me scout is a great educational toy aimed at children aged 2 to 5. My son is 2 years old and hasn't put scout down since it arrived two weeks ago.There are five books available which aims to entertain and encourage children to read. Scout is interactive and will read the books along with your child. The story time mode is the mode used to read books and interact with scout. The scout will ask questions about the book and a simple pat on his head will move on to the next page. The sleepy time mode allows scout to read one story from beginning to end without the need for any interaction, followed by 8 minutes of lullaby songs to put little ones to sleep. There is a switch on the side of Scout’s collar to switch between the two modes.Scouts collar has five buttons on it that corresponds to the books. The Books are: -1. Let’s Go Camping2. Let’s Find Scout’s Toy3. Let’s Have a Party4. Let’s Cheer Up Eli5. Let’s Learn About The WeatherThe books alone are great to read, they are bright and colourful with just a few sentences on each page. Once you have decided which book you want to read you press the number on the collar and scout will read along with you. The style of the leapfrog books make them appealing to children. All of the books also teach different things such as teaching rhyme and repetition, exploring colours, the world around you and much more.As well as the collar, there are five different interactive spots on Scout, the star on his head, a heart on his cheek, a musical note and a bone on his paws and a spot on his back to pat, when in story time these all generate interactive comments and music from Scout.Overall, this is a high quality educational toy at a very good price. My son loves reading the books and interacting with scout throughout the day and we use the sleepy time mode most nights. I bought this toy for my two year old niece. She really loves to press all of Scout's interactive buttons and listen to him sing and talk to her. At the time I bought it for her, she was still a bit young to follow along with the books as he read them to her, but she still enjoyed looking at the books in their own. This is a great toy for young kids.
