Good Chair for Small/Curved Tubs
I got this for my Dad after heart surgery, because our tub/shower is 16in wide. The written instructions weren't very clear, but I had no issues following along with the images provided. The chair is stable. The wider suction cups (?) on the bottom of the legs make the chair feel even more stable when sitting (provides a wider bottom base). I'm 200lbs and it was a comfortable seat (extra room). For someone larger/wider you may need to remove an armrest so it's not digging into their leg, but it is stable enough that it won't move when standing without the armrests. Overall the building and use of the chair and accessories (lofa stick, hanging caddy, and clip for the shower head (!!)) were better than I expected and I'm happy I got it.

Good chair but hard to put together
I like the chair. Last winter I had shoulder surgery and had to buy a shower chair just as I was getting out of the hospital. I ended up with one that had no back and no handrails so those features particularly drew me to this. The cross bar also makes the chair very sturdy. It is smaller than most chairs, at no more than 15 inches from end of chair leg bottom to end of chair leg bottom. It fits in my tub flat on the bottom without getting caught up in the curvature of the tub. The plastic clasp to hold the shower head, the loofah sponge, hanging toiletry bag and foam for the seat and back are nice extra touches. Although I wouldn't use the foam for the seat and back fearing that bacteria will eventually get into them. Now, the only reason I gave this a four and not a five was the difficulty in putting it together. This is not something you would expect your 80 year old grandmother to do by herself. The instructions could be done much better. They start out telling you to put U-Leg A (with concave side) on the bottom and U-Leg B (with convex side) on top. These are the two bars that go directly underneath the seat and become the legs. The bottom side of the chair is marked 1 and 2, not A and B, so I spent a bit of time putting the bars in different directions and I probably tried the correct one last. When doing it the wrong way first, I noticed that the wing screws sounded like they were getting stripped and the bar wasn't getting tighter. You just have to keep trying until you get the right configuration. I feel that the parts could have been labeled to avoid this. Secondly they could have explained that there are two sizes of screws in the package. (The package comes with 8 thin screws, 8 nuts for these, 4 thick screws, 2 allen wrenches and one hex wrench. The nuts are compression lock nuts.) The directions just say to "tighten screws and screw caps with the provided wrench to secure the four handrail slots". It could have said to use the set of 8 smaller screws with nuts to attach the handrails. I was trying to use the larger screw before I realized there were different sizes and would have damaged the screw or the handrail slot if I kept going. Incidentally, the 4 larger screws (without nuts) are used in attaching the cross bar to the legs. Thirdly, the only way to get the handrail into the handrail slot is BEFORE you attach the handrail slot to the leg. Otherwise the handrail doesn't slide into the slot because the bend in the handrail doesn't go over the side of the seat. These things could have all been explained in better instructions.I really like the chair. It is comfortable and sturdy and the handrails and back rest are nice features. I don't know if it will hold 500 pounds, but probably someone that weighs 500 pounds won't fit in this smaller chair anyway. I really like that it fits in the tub without precariously resting on curved bathtub sides. The small size means it fits flat on the floor in the tub, no worry. I am happy with it and it's a keeper. Now that it's put together, there is no way I am going to take it apart again.

I think up to 200 lbs would be a good fit
The chair seems like it would be good up to 200 lbs. I dont think it feels safe putting more weight than that on the arms other than straight up and down. If at an angle the arms feels like they would spread out. I used it when a 150lb family member had a head injury and they were quite satisfied with it. It is rated for 500lbs but I think over 200lbs you might feel more confident using a hospital grade chair. Satisfied with the quality for anyone less than 200lbs.

Absolute garbage instructions
The instructions for this thing tell you to find bar "a" and put it in its "respective slot" to start with. The only problem is that the only slots are labeled 1 and 2. Which, as you can imagine, is not a great start. As I'm fuddling through these instructions, "short screw" and "longer screw", nothing actually labeled with real part names or numbers that can be referenced in any way, I'm honestly really struggling to get through it. I need the chair for my mother, though. She needs to be able to shower safely by herself. So, I power through. I near the end of this mess of instructions, only to find out that the last 3 pieces, the cross bar and two arm bars, do not fit onto the chair. Not only do they not fit, they don't fit by quite a large margin. So, now I am left to either disassemble this and recycle it, also removing the foam stickers, or I can leave the chair like this and hope that there are no accidents, which there eventually will be. Not having the arms also means that the fancy features of being able to attach the shover head and other amenities doesn't exist. All in all, I got an unsafe chair and lost a good hour of my life so far. I'll lost another 2 hours having to disassemble and dispose of this chair, because it's a safety hazard. At least I got a back scrubber out of it? I don't feel like a back scrubber is worth 3 hours of my time.

It's okay
Fairly nice shower chair with pretty much everything I need. I like the cushioned seat and the holder for the shower head. It fits well in my shower and I can hang the included loofah and toiletry bag on the chair. The blue is an attractive color, but I think a more neutral color would be more fitting as the blue might not go with everyone's decor.I am a small person (5'1", 118 lbs.) so this is plenty sturdy enough for me, but I'm not sure it would be for a larger person. I certainly can't see someone 500 lbs. using it.As for ease of assembly, I think the illustrated instructions are quite clear. Actually my nine year old grandson put this together for me as I wasn't quite up to it. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean it is easy, being my grandsons are both really good at following directions and putting things together. When he was done, all we had to do was tighten some of the fixtures.Overall, it is a nice shower chair and it suits my immediate needs. I just can't be certain how durable it will be in the long run.
