As a former Pest Control Professional, Bifenthrin (the active ingredient in this product) is a long established and highly effective insecticide. You won't find a pest control company that doesn't use Bifenthrin as part of their PC program. It is used indoors (as a liquid spray), outdoors as "border control", and in turf grass (granular or liquid) to control dozens of insects. In the south, Chinch Bugs are perhaps our biggest turf grass enemy- particularly in St Augustine grass, and Bifenthrin is highly effective (especially as part of a 1-2 punch described in more detail below)Ortho BugClear is one of the best values for Bifen (for short) even compared to their own competing product "Lawn Insect Killer". BugClear has nearly DOUBLE the Bifen, and is labeled to cover 1.5"+ times the square feet of turf, yet is priced comparably. In other words, if you choose the "Lawn Insect Killer" from Ortho, you are spending nearly twice as much!Now, the 1-2 punch for Chinch bugs. Cyhalothrin in combination with Bifen. Cyhalothrin comes in various formulations (Gamma, Lambda), but I am too far removed from my PC days to even know the differences, but don't get hung up on that. It is classified as a micro-encapsulated insecticide and is also very effective indoors and out for control of a multitude of insects. It is available in many OTC products including Spectracide Triazicide (the best value I have found OTC) in both liquid and granular. For Chinch bugs, I alternate between the granular and liquid versions of Cyhalothrin and Bifen four times a year. Chinch bugs are a summer problem, but this punch is highly effective against fire ants, Mole Crickets, somewhat for grubs, and other fall/winter pests. (white grubs are a whole other issue and you want a product with an active ingredient like Imidacloprid (a synthesized nicotine product) to catch them in the spring while the June Beetles are laying their eggs in your yard).Alternate the 1-2 granular/liquid approach 3-4 times a year in your lawn, and 90% or more of the pests you fight won't have a chance, and you can control them with these OTC products for an entire year for less than a month or two of a lawn professional (who will likely be using the same active ingredient products). If you have a large yard, explore some of the retailers that offer "pro grade" products with the same active insecticides for bulk sale to anyone in most states. But for most, this insect control program will do the job for a relatively low cost with products available on Amazon, or your local home improvement store.

I am always digging to plant things despite having a phobia of worms. I would encounter grubs when digging. For some reason, I was expecting this to kill them in place. I didn't know they would all come to the surface to say goodbye. I spread the stuff and two days later, the evidence of it working was everywhere. There are so many. I had no idea. This works, no doubt about that. For those of you who don't want to see them after, well too bad.

I bought this to see if it would help with grasshoppers and nope it did not. Those were the only bugs I really had a problem with so it doesn't work on grasshoppers.

My lawn was looking super dry, and I kept watering it, hoping that it will turn lush and green until A neighbor of mine mentioned that the grubs were eating my lawn and that’s the reason why it was not green. It wasn’t because of lack of water because I changed the sprinkler heads, hoping that fix the issue. Anyway, once I realize what the issue was, went ahead and ordered this product. I sprinkled it all over my lawn and heavier on the spots that I felt had the most infestation. In a few weeks time the lawn turned nice and green. I do have some spots occasionally that are patchy and I will spot treat them with the granules. I highly recommend this product. Also, I would like to add that I have tried other products that claim to kill grubs and they don’t. This one actually does.

My yard was infested with swarms of Japanese beetles during the summer. When September/October came I had HUNDREDS of grubs all over everything. My garage, my patio, my driveway they were everywhere. I put down 2 large bags in a spreader and I kid you not the next day there were dead grubs all over the place. This has become a staple in my spring preventative to get rid of the beetles and the grubs .

I can't tell much difference. I live in the woods with lots of ticks in the summer (north FL). Even after treating the yard around my RV twice in as many months, I'm not sure there's much difference. I only treated a 20' radius around my coach. Maybe there are just too many ticks?

This product kills ants within hours of application on the ant hill. I’ve been using it all summer in the yard with great results! I only spread enough granules to lightly cover the hill.

After putting it out dead bugs started showing up but ultimately I had to call the pros to spray the commercial grade stuff to kill the grubs taking over my lawn
