Great build quality for a headset mic!
Let me preface this by saying that even though the "USB 2" version costs more than the "Uni 2" version of the ModMic, you get a thicker boom mic to hide the mic bends, a higher quality tactile mute switch with an LED indicator, a higher mic volume out of the box, and USB Type-A and Type-C connection. In contrast, the "Uni 2" ModMic is quieter and requires software to boost the mic gain, which can be downloaded online for free. However, the mic qualities of the two versions are essentially the same from what I can tell. Keep this in mind when deciding on which ModMic to buy.Alright here's my review of this mic:Attaching this to a headset with 3M adhesive and magnetic clasps is straightforward. As advertised, this can be attached to any flat surface (and surfaces with grooves!) since the mic isn't that heavy. The light weight also means that you won't notice the additional weight on your headphones as well. The mic can be toggled on and off very easily with the mute button, which hangs around the breast/armpit region for me. It can also be rotated easily whenever you need to leave your desk and the magnets are strong enough to where you won't accidentally pull it off your headphones. The boom arm is made of a relatively soft plastic/rubber-like material that can easily bend into position and is thick enough to hide a majority of the bends that you might be making in the lifespan of this mic. The pop filter also prevents all of the noise that gets picked up when air is being blown into it, like a fan or heavier breathing. The mic recording quality is as expected for the product in this price bracket. Search up reviews and/or mic tests on YouTube and it's exactly as expected. It captures a more natural sound in the voice and isn't compressed as much as typical headsets, but it won't sound like you're speaking to someone face-to-face.PSA: If you are using this for online video calls like Zoom or Google Meet, then there's no point in purchasing this product since the mic quality benefits are negated from video and audio streaming compression. But if you're recording videos/audio messages, talking over Discord, or communicating on platforms that allow higher bitrates in sound quality, then this product will be amazing! Additionally, if you have extra money to spend on the ModMic, I recommend purchasing the USB 2 ModMic over the Uni 2 ModMic for the extra build quality.

great sounding mic. Build could be a tad better
First off love the mic and the quality it gives during my chill relax survival gaming streams and frees so much space off my desk So goodbye lame bulky boom arms and studio mics.Sadly it does not work well with my Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX Headphones. So i ended having to use 2 of those adhesive pads to get the mic stuck to my headphones. Used one of the spare pads and stuck it right on and then proceed to place the mic over that one and held there. it worked but it be nice if pads were a lot stickier and base a little wider for the pad size increase so the mic can be placed correctly on all headphones.Third: That part of the mic in the picture just wanna ask ... Why? why is it a screw plastic cap? it could of and should of been just one solid piece. if you unscrew it WHICH btw was barely screwed to the base as is, the mic can be pulled from the base. Thankfully there is superglue LULover all i am happy with this product and still give 5 stars. will buy again if current one breaks

Great sound quality and ease of use
I bought this after my wireless version broke and I certainly won't look back, the quality is very good and using it is very easy and in most cases easier than the wireless version, you can just leave it plugged in somewhere near your desk and whenever you need it attach it easily, no pairing, no "oh damn I forgot to fully charge".It's really such a easy to use and solid product that I don't think I could ever suggest someone buying a headset with inbuilt mic

Big improvement over Gen 1
Yea sounds great, better than 99% of headset mic's out there and so it should for £90 but happy to recommend. Get the USB version for faff free, just works.

Works great with my DT 990 Pros
Didn’t want to use a standalone mic and boom arm because I’m not a wannabe streamer.Sound is very impressive and set up is easy. Just plug and play. I’d recommend using a mirror to help you figure out where on the headset to place the magnetic puck.I’m using mine with a DT990 pro connected to a Fosi Dac q4. I’ve routed the cable down the coiled cable of the headset and connected to a usb extension cable as my pc is Further than 2 meters away.If you want wireless wait for the modmic wireless 2 coming out 2025.
