My experience with this Thermal Expansion Tank has been highly favorable.
I ordered this 4.5 Gallon Thermal Expansion Tank for a water heater replacement project.Several features attracted me to this product.First and foremost, the tank is made of 16-gauge steel, which makes it very durable.Second, the diaphragm materials (100% butyl rubber, lined with polypropylene) complement the tank's durability.Third, the entire product is lead-free.Finally, I also appreciate the 304 Grade Stainless Steel ¾" connection. My experience with this Thermal Expansion Tank has been highly favorable, and I recommend it without reservations.Note: I prefer the larger tank because it has a greater capacity to absorb water expansion, which occurs as the water temperature increases inside the water heater.

Reliable Expansion Tank with Solid Build Quality
The 4.5 Gallon Thermal Expansion Tank is a great addition to any hot water system. The 304-grade stainless steel construction feels durable and ensures resistance to corrosion, which is a must for long-term use. The 3/4" MNPT connection is standard, making installation straightforward and hassle-free. The butyl rubber diaphragm inside does an excellent job of preventing hot water from backflowing into the cold water lines, which helps maintain system pressure and prevents damage to plumbing fixtures.Overall, this expansion tank is well-built and reliable, perfect for homeowners or professionals looking for a quality solution. Highly recommended for those looking to improve their water heating system's safety and efficiency.

Great thermal expansion tank for water heaters.
This tank was super easy to install and has been working well ever since. I did not notice any quality related issues prior to installation. The tank was well made and functions well.

Poor weld.
I needed an expansion take for a water system in a farm building. When i took this one out of the bag I immediately noticed the weld at the start and stop point did not look right. The thick layer of paint makes it a bit hard to tell but it does not appear that the weld made good penetration at the seam. The weld in this area does not have a nice convex profile. It could last 50 years or it could fail withing days of being put into service.I am amazed that this made it past any type of quality control process for the welding of this tank. I cannot recommend this product due to the poor quality of the weld on the tank I received.

Solid piece of equipment
Home never had one of these installed. So when I replaced my hot water heater the code changed to add one. Very easy to install and seems to be solidly built.

"Tank You!"
This thermal expansion tank was an essential component for my hydronic floor heating project. I'm using a heat pump water heater to warm the water, and the tank effectively compensates for the liquid expansion that occurs when the system is operational. This product is the perfect size, and I used wall clamps to securely mount it to the wall. The stainless steel MIP connection indicates excellent build quality. It's pre-pressurized to 40 PSI, so it's ready for immediate use.

Old house update to code
Replaced the water heater in an old house and by code had to add in an expansion tank. This was a simply addition and this tank seems to be well made. I was am happy with the tank and for the price it meets my needs.
