Exactly what I was looking for!
I'm an avid kayaker on flatwater, rivers, touring and coastal. I wanted a water shoe that was an actual shoe, with a decent arch support and a strong enough sole that I could walk on rocks without feeling like I was almost barefoot. The Astral Brewer was exactly that. It's good looking, confortable, durable, quick drying, lightweight yet substantial, and gives my feet the grip and protection I need when I get out of the boat. Do be sure to wash them and then dry them in the sun after use. People who complain about them getting smelly over time aren't washing them and drying them properly. I replaced the standard laces lock-laces to minimize entanglement risks and to keep from worrying about them coming untied. I definitely recommend these and/or the Astral Rasslers.

Buy them. Seriously. Do it.
I'm a fan of Astral products. I have Astral dog life jackets and an Astral PFD. Super happy with them. When a friend showed off her water shoes, I had to have them.I've been wearing NRS water boots, but they are rather hot during the summer and they hold water. I don't love sloshing around in them. These are great. Well-made; fit great; super comfortable; light; dry fast. Best part, maybe... they have drain holes. No sloshing. They do stay wet, of course, but they don't fill with water and stay that way. I absolutely love that. These are great shoes. Buy them. You won't be disappointed.Oh, btw, I wear a men's 9 and found these to be true to size.

Great for canoe camping
This is a review for those using for canoe camping (like the boundary waters canoe area). Shoe works pretty well out there. I fully submerged it on almost every entry/exit of the canoe. It's not an instant dry, but would be fully dry by the next morning that I needed it. It's very lightweight, too. Doesn't provide much warmth at all, but if you change into dry wool socks later you're fine. The shoe also provides great grip when portaging. It's also not a bad look for daily life for those rainy days when you don't mind getting a shoe soaked. I liked it enough that it will replace my boots when going back to the BWCA.

Light, comfortable.
The only shoes I brought for two days in Aguas Calientes. They worked great in the hot springs and the slippery rocks up to Machu Pichu. They are very much not hiking shoes though, my mistake. Great water shoes. Don't hike Machu Pichu in them though. To their credit they did hold together after two days on the trail. My knees and ankles, not so much.

Comfortable
They dry very quickly. I live in the Pacific Northwest so that’s important. They offer almost no warmth but with merino socks it’s not an issue and are very comfortable but slightly too small. I think ordering a half size up would have been a good idea but it’s a good purchase.

Met all my needs!
Am avid rock hunter. Have had multiple joint replacements and as result experience balance issues on uneven ground. Researched extensively-for wide width, “sticky” soles, good support and balance support. These worked perfectly! I am a woman-tried on these and other options at local outdoor retailers and found men’s shoe provided width I needed. Spent month in Michigan UP on Lake Superior and was able to hunt (and find!) rock treasures-never lost balance or fell in water, waves. Also wore on rocky, root covered ground-actually wore them almost continuously entire month. Dried quickly. Developed some odor wearing long time-aired out over night-odor gone. Definitely worth the investment-would purchase again-highly recommend!

Awesome water shoe
Have been a long time Keen Newport person having bought my first pair around 20 years ago and wore them until they fell apart. Replacement pair lasted almost as long. 3rd pair lasted only one summer before they were falling apart. Their quality has really gone down.I replaced them with some Merrels and I absolutely hated them. Suffered through all last summer but after wearing them a time or two this summer and being miserable decided to make the switch.I have an Astral PFD that is awesome so I decided to give the shoes a try and let me tell you it was the best decision I ever made. Extremely comfortable shoes in and out of the water. Excellent grip on slick rocks in the river. Maybe the only complaint I have is sand can get into the shoe but that’s really about it. These shoes completely changed my life. Ok, not really, but they do make me happy and I would get another pair with no hesitation.

Too narrow for me.
It’s not really fair to write a review since I wasn’t able to actually wear them, but I thought it would be useful to share that they fit very narrow. I have wide feet but not so wide that I require special wide shoes and it was like I couldn’t even get into the shoes. Looked cool. Lightweight. Grippy. Seemed promising.
