This recessed power socket is manufactured from metal, making it extremely robust, especially for areas where ift may suffer unintentional abuse, such as a workshop or garage for example.The 3 pin power outlets at either side of the USB ports (1 x USBa and 1 x USBc) are unexpectedly sideways orientated...this may be a good or not so good feature. It means that the cables are sideways which would be an advantage of keeping the leads off the area immediately in front of the housing, or could be a hinderance in other use cases....you decide.The unit fits nicely into a flat surface such as a desk or a workbench for example, the sockets are out of sight until needed whereupon they rise (damped) upon pressing the top.Locating the electrical plugs and USB plugs is smooth and retains the plugs securely.Once finished with the lid is pushed shut to leave flat & unobtrusive.The housing is in a black powder coating witch has a nice subtle textured finish.Power is supplied via a white flex exiting underneath, terminated with a 3 pin plug. This is not ideal as the likelyhood of a 3 pin socket outlet to plug into being in the locale is slim, as you wouldnt need this unit in the first place. For instances where such a socket IS available it ios a case of simply pluk n go. However in the real world, in a workshop, garage office or study perhaps, a hard wiring solution is highly likely, so a terminal connector block would be more appropriate.Personally I will be utilising this in my campervan as it is well suited to this use....handy when you need it, stowed out of sight when not.I'm not convinced that it is sufficiently worthy of the asking price when a simple extension lead from a highstreet electrical store would provide the same useful functions at a lower price...but you decide!£31.50 at the time of my review

This is a very heavy duty pop-up socket unit that allows you plug 2x 13 amp plugs in as well as a USB C and a USB A port.Just the job for anyone in a workshop that needs that extra space where you can close the socket, or pop it up when you need it.This is about to be installed in the garage once we get rid of all of the other stuff that should not be in a garage, a nice workbench and then this will fit nicely on the side.On the base of the socket is a pre-wired 13amp cable hard-wired to a 13amp plug, so no wiring needed to be done.To secure this, it comes with some decent clips that fit below the unit and then secure it in place.In the box, you get a template too that helps you mark out the cutting, but it is made of thin card.

This is absolutely a top end power socket.It even comes with a cutting template to allow you to cut it out with ease!The screw fixings are cunningly designed to work from underneath your desk, so you don't see them.And when you press the lid, it comes up beautifully smooth.A really great product.

I didn't want plugs on show all of the time as it can lead to them getting damaged in the van.In the pack there is a cutting guide to help you get a perfect fit for your socket and when closed it looks very neat and tidy.With a simply press the case flips open and reveals two three pin sockets and two USB C sockets for you to use.The socket itself is powered by plugging in the three pin plug to a suitable outlet and away you go.I really like how smart this looks and it means I don't have to have sockets on show all the time.

I ordered this to fit into my kitchen and on the whole this is a very well built unit and a sleek design however I did have one small problem.I tested this before fitting to be sure than it would meet my needs before cutting the hole for it into my worktop and found that the popup section that has the sockets on only rises a small amount so any non standard plugs such as 12 volt adapters won't fit but most kitchen devices use normal plugs so for those it works well.Along with two three pin UK plug sockets this unit has a PD port to power phones, tablets and even laptops. There is also a USB-A port to power any standard low power USB device.The popup mechanism works very well and operated smoothly then when finished it simply pushes back down and locks into place being almost flat against the desk top or worktop.Overall, this unit has been built to a very high standard and feels very solid, the mechanism work perfectly with just the one slight issue of not being able to use it with some power adapters.Recommended.

I have just installed a new desk in my home office and this is a great addition to the desk to add hand power when needed in a convenient and subtle design. Simple to cut out the desk, a template would have been nice but being rectangular this was simple enough to mark out and cut.The opening and closing of the lid is nice and smooth which adds to the quality feel of this and I really like that the sockets are facing sideways which means that the cables are tucked out of the way.I also really like that this has USB-C sockets built in as well but I do wish that there were more than just one.Overall I would say that this is great value for money and worth thinking about for anyone in a home office or kitchen situation
