Burley, rowdy, fun can’t go wrong

I replaced my Maxxis Minion DHR EXO/TR 29x2.3 tubeless with this Assegai 2.5 DH casing tire. Yeah its heavy. But its also a thing of beauty. I consider the Minion something of an industry-best/standard. Side by side with a Minion DHR, this tire has a little more closely spaced knobs - still plenty of room in between - that are noticeably higher than the Minion. On soft stuff you are going to stick to the ground beautifully.The thick DH casing is what it is. For me, a bigger rider, its a benefit on multiple fronts. Interestingly I fought to get the tire onto my DT FR560 rims, which are 30mm interior width, and the tires fit so tightly I was able to air them up with no sealant, and the tire stayed aired up. Beside that saying I have good rim tape, its a testament to this tire being not just 'tubeless ready' but if you are smart, 'tubeless only'. No reason in the world to put an inner tube inside such a well-fitting, substantial tire.

Became my main bitch after my first ride with it now I've had at least 6 of them best tire I've ever used. Not the best looking but best preforming.

Best tire I’ve ever used by far. Used dhf for a long time and I love that tire but this new assegai is amazing. Traction traction traction. Feels like the bike is in rails. I know everyone says it’s a heavy tire, and it is definitely heavy. But The trade off is worth it all the way. Will definitely buy again,

Tire hooks up really well. Wears really fast in the rocks.

Got this before going to Vermont for a mountain bike trip and have to say this was a great tire. Super squishy but held up great. Not the greatest for when you actually have to pedal a lot but if you are looking for a great downhill tire this is it.

Purtroppo ho dovuto rendere il copertone perché una volta montato ho notato grandi perdite d aria dalla spalla (attenzione non dal tallone ma proprio attraverso la gomma). Il venditore molto cortesemente mi ha spiegato che essendo tubeless ready avrei dovuto "sigillare" con lattice ma siccome non ho mai avuto problemi di questo genere con altri copertoni maxxis TR ho preferito evitare di compromettere il prodotto ed effettuare reso.L'assistenza del venditore è stata comunque ottima in quanto si è fatto carico delle spese di reso e mi ha rimborsato l'acquisto nel giro di pochi giorni.

Pneumatici votati alle discipline gravity consiglio per chi fà discesa ed e-bike in quanto in questa configurazione offrono un gripp stratosferico naturalmente a discapito della scorrevolezza, per chi invece le vuole un pò più fluide raccomando di comprare il 120 tpi più tela e meno gomma anche se questo le rende più rumorose e meno confortevoli.
