Nice set, easy to clean...I use them to put egg wash on backed goods. Works well and they are easy to clean.

We do a lot of grilling and a lot of baking, both of which require basting for best appearance and taste. We've used silicon, artificial bristles and natural bristles. All three have their place, but we prefer natural bristles for most things. I ordered this set of natural bristle brushes to replace some older ones, but also because of their attractive appearance. The smooth wooden handles are comfortable to hold and use. The length and texture of the bristles allow them to hold a good amount of the liquid being applied and still give control to spread it evenly. Sometimes the makers are skimpy on the amount of bristles used, but these brushes have a generous number of bristles. Aesthetically we like the natural wood handles and the colors used. We are very happy with them.

Call me old fashioned, but I much prefer the more traditional, natural bristle basting/pastry brushes over the newer silicone basting brushes. I don't do a lot of baking, so these will be used by DH when cooking and grilling. He is a retired former chef and restaurant manager and said these appear to be well made, good quality brushes and he looks forward to using them.

Okay as basting brush but not suitable for delicate pastry, too stiff, too thick. Two out of four brushes have remnants of the glue in the places that can be in contact with food, not sure if they are entirely safe. Handles have nice finish while bristle quality could use improvement. These brushes are too small for barbecue and too stiff for pastry, so their use is limited to small bird basting.

Basting brushes come in many materials. These are wooden with natural bristle. I prefer these for spreading sauces on meats and vegetables because they hold and release the marinades better than silicon. The wooden handles are sturdy. This set has a variety of sizes. Be sure to wash and air dry promptly after use to keep them in nice condition and lasting long.

We use basting brushes in my family to decorate cookies. We melt icing down and paint it on like a glaze. These brushes work great for that and honestly are a better quality than what we currently own. The bristles don't fall out easily by any means (that's another issue I typically face). These are exactly what I wanted and needed and definitely recommend them. They definitely would work great for the normal basting things too.
