realistic movement and sound like real tank
The media could not be loaded. Let's get a misleading part of the listing out of the way. The tank body is not metal as described in the heading of the listing. The body is plastic however, the drive sprockets, road wheels, idlers and treads are metal. In fact, the squeaking of the metal treads as it rides over the metal sprockets and suspension is very reminiscent of a tank or other treaded vehicle. The first surprising aspect of operating this RC is that the treads are controlled by a single stick. This will make driving easier for beginners, but I was expecting the treads to operate with both sticks like my other treaded RCs. This type of control does leave the other stick available for controlling the turret angle and turret rotation. As seen in the video, the tank is capable of use indoors or outside and it is pretty capable of rough terrain. Some tall grass did get trapped in the drive sprockets, but it didn't prevent the tank from driving forward or backwards. The last portion of the video shows the tank operating over large roots and dirt and the action of the suspension as it traverses the roots can easily be seen. The kit includes a supply of plastic BBs and water projectiles which I haven't fired yet. The tank stops moving when preparing to fire the cannon and the barrel and tank both recoil upon firing. The kit also included 2 rechargeable batteries and the charger. The instructions didn't indicate if the charger's flashing LED would stop flashing, and it continued to flash after charging overnight so there is no way of knowing when the batteries are fully charged. The 4 standard AA batteries for the transmitter are not included.Overall, a lot of fun from a well-made RC.

Fun Toy
This is a fun toy, but I took 1 star off, because for the price the controller should really feel sturdier. I’ve also had issues with the yellow pellets getting stuck and then shotgunning out all at once.I love how there is “recoil” when it fires. It’s easy to take the rechargeable battery out, which is good, since you need to take it out every time you are done playing with it.

Really really fun tanks
Can not believe how fun these are with the pellets and realism

Super Fun
When I got this out of the box just to test it for my review, it was a long time before I packed it back up again, just because it was so much fun! This realistic looking Leopard tank really reminded me of some of the cool toys we had growing up in the late 60s and early 70s, but it has even more features. Except a toy like this back then, if it something like this was even available, would have cost hundreds. This tank, however, is very affordable. The remote control works great to control all the functions of the tank. I didn't experience any problems with range, etc. The battery packs last a good while and recharge pretty quickly. The tank can move quite briskly, just like the real version. It's got a couple of really neat features, like the fact that it can fire airsoft pellets. When it does, it makes a realistic shooting noise and the entire tank jumps a little to realistically simulate recoil. Another feature I think is great the fake "exhaust smoke" that you can switch on or off. Very cool. The tank is fairly realistic for a toy, compared to the genuine article. Some liberties have been taken, but, hey, it's a toy!My nephew will end up with this as a gift (once I'm finished playing). He is 8, which I think is a good age for this toy. It does have some fiddly parts to it, like replacing the battery pack, but it's not too bad. I wouldn't recommend this for much younger kids, though, unless you think they have the ability to deal with slightly fragile stuff. But this one isn't too bad for that.I think this tank can keep a kid engaged for hours. It's really fun and it didn't fall apart while I was "testing" it, but like all kids toys, keep some krazy glue handy.Maybe I'm just nostalgic about my own childhood toys, but I really think this one is great.

Very realistic and lots of features
This is a terrific model of a German Leopard 2 tank that has lights, smoke, sound and can actually shoot bbs and water bombs. The device is controlled by an easy to use remote that reminds of the models of when I was a child.Using water balls or bbs you can fill up to 100 in the tank and shoot them with actual sound and recoil on the barrel, very realistic. There is a lock button under a hatch that can can turn the shooting feature on or off.The turret and tank rotate 360 degrees and the LED lights add more realism to the detail. The paint and fine details are done well and although a toy is great for those who like realistic models for collection. There is a sonic mister built in the uses water to create a smoke effect that looks real and adds to the tanks authenticity and fun. After charging the two included batteries you can use the tank for about an hour depending on what terrain you are rolling over. Having metal tracks helps the tank be durable while making it feel like a miniature of the real thing.Overall great RC model that looks great, has lots of realistic features and will operate for an hour or so woth the included batteries. Great buy for kids and enthusiasts of military RC collectables.

Lots of fun!
The media could not be loaded. The remote control tank is lots of fun to use. The tank is made of sturdy plastic but the tracks are made of metal. Comes with mini plastic pellets and dissolvable water pellets. The controller is made of plastic and unfortunately the controller feels cheap. Also it requires 4 double A batteries! The tank comes with two rechargeable batteries. I don't understand why the remote control doesn't use the same battery as the tank...When you fire a pellet, the tank simulates recoil with the tank moving back a little. Also has a button on the controller to make machine gun sound effects. Has two front lights in front of the tank. Note you'll need to open a small hatch on top of the tank as per instructions to fire the pellets. I believe this is a safety for children if the parents don't want them using this feature. You can also add contents the toy comes with to make simulated smoke come out the back of the tank as if it was the exhaust shooting out smoke when moving. You can control when the smoke comes out on the controller with a press of a button. When aiming the tanks forward nozzle, you can aim it up and down although limited to avoid 40 degrees upward.Age requirement says 4 or older but I think it's possible that this toy would suit 10 and up.

Metal tracks!
This rc tank is a blast. Everything is pretty solid. Like most rc’s with sound, the sound is a little annoying after a while but the kids enjoy it. Either way the sound can be turned off via a button on the controller. It shoots water beads and bb’s, not very hard though, doesn’t even pierce cardboard. Which is great because, although this isn’t really a kids toy, it can’t really do much damage (break glass, pierce skin, damage furniture). I would still recommend safety goggles, air soft bb’s do bounce, and almost all of them have eyeball seeking micro chips in them. The overall build quality is excellent but the tracks are a little loose, I’m not sure if there’s a way to tighten them but I don’t think this will present an issue. The tracks are metal and quite loud, but like a good loud! Like, it sounds like an actual little machine.Controls are very intuitive. Left stick is drive right is turret and the rest are just buttons (sound, fog, fire cannon)Overall this is a phenomenal rc model tank, highly recommend!

Fun, Easy to master, lots of plastic, but the treads feel metal (Aluminum?). Noisy
It's quite loud when the motor and the tracks are running, but it's a very fun and an amazing toy.I'd recommend for older kids - probably 7-8+ due to how strong the pellets get fired - easily penetrated some very thick cardboard. (Which was awesome)Looks beautiful as a model as well, so when you're done playing with it - you can leave it out on display! It comes with some extra accessories/stickers you can put on it.My kids complained that it was very loud when operating (They're a bit sensitive to sounds.. and are only 5 years old). I did not get this for them to play with, this was a toy for me!Finally, while it is very good at traversing uneven terrain, I wouldn't take it through mud or water, or even tall/thick grass/brush. I expect if you put it through any of these terrains the tank is likely to either break, or need some maintenance fairly soon (brush/mud getting stuck in the moving parts). Each wheel has an individual "Shock absorber" It's impressive!
