Clunk click...
Solid stapler, with a great 'click' action. Really weighty so paper knows the score... its going down a la stapler stylee.Could have done with a few more 'free' staples mind. Overall good.

Easier to press stapler
Odd first time because you press in the middle of the stapler and not from the end but it does work well and it is easier to use for sure. It staples small bundles easily but is not a heavy duty stapler. Up to 60 pages it quite a lot though!

Without a firm press, the staples won't lie flat
I was disappointed to find that a firm snap is necessary to get the staples to lie flat against the backs of my pages. For a product boasting easy stapling, this is a short-coming, especially when a 'normal' stapler doesn't have that problem. With that said, I do appreciate that it can staple thicker stacks without trouble, though the same problem arises--without a firm, quick snap the staples refuse to lie flat.

Heavy
This is a surprisingly bulky and heavy stapler. The selling point is that you can press anywhere on the top bar to staple your paper. However, you do have to give it a fairly hefty press, otherwise I found the staple legs at the back stuck straight out. When you do it right the legs lie flat against the paper. For my office needs it is a bit too heavy and unwieldy but then I do not need to staples piles and piles of paper. If you do, you may find you are happier with this than I was.

Competent, however no real improvement on a decent stapler
This stapler is an entirely different design and movement to the usual models. Instead of just pushing the front of the lever down to staple, with this model the entire lever compresses down. The stapling mechanism isn't seperated from the base to fill with staples, it's all in the top.My current stapler is about 6 years old and cost about £15 at Staples. Comparing the stapling of my old Staples stapler and this new one for desktop stapling I really can't see any difference. They both staple as tightly. The top of the staples are as straight and the underside are as even and close to the paper. The Omnipress is slightly better for mid-air stapling (so when you're just holding the documents in your hand rather than laying them flat) but in fairness my Staples one is specifically for desktop use.The Omnipress claims it staples flatter, so a pile of stapled documents would lay flatter, rather than be risen up on the stapled side, but I'm not seeing that. It may well staple flatter than a really cheapo stapler, but there's no improvement from my mid-range one. There is also no function, from what I could see, to have the staples crimp outwards.Obviously the Omipress suggests you use the matching branded staples (you get the smallest box of staples ever included with the Omnipress). I did try it with my usual generic staples as well, and although they were the same size the Omnipress staples did suit the Omi stapler better. There was noticeably less 'clunk' and they did staple easier.I have also reviewed the Rapid Supreme Omnipress SO30 Fullstrip Stapler (White/Pink) , what does the SO60 have over the slightly cheaper SO30? Well, the SO60 can handle up to 60 sheets (while the SO30 can only deal with up to 30 sheets). The two staplers look identical, though the SO60's carrier length was about 1/10" of an inch longer. The Omnipress works fine, but you can get the same good results from a cheaper stapler.

Great stapler, nice flat staples
This stapler has a very nice design, clearly this has been thought out. Good for extended use such as in an office. Easy on the hand and does not cause soreness. The flat clinch technology works well and really does reduce the size of a stack, no more lop-sized ugliness; however to get them 'superflat' you do need to use a sharp hard press, which can be annoying if you forget. It has a decent guarantee, although it is so well engineered I don't think it will be near breaking even with tens of thousands of staples under it's belt. Filling is simple enough, no problems.to speak of. This is rated at 60 pages (!), personally I've only done about 25 but it went through with ease. This is a serious stapler and is reflected in the price, which is high for a simple mechanical stapler. I would suggest checking out the competition, but if you are buying for your work-office then this will do just fine.Ove

3.5 Stars rounded-up. Not great for less than 8 sheets and very heavy for a stapler. OK action and staples thicker sheaves well.
OK if you mainly staple wodges of 10 or more sheets. In that situation it staples well; the staples do lie flat and the legs are well pressed against the paper, exposing no sharp prongs. The stapling action is novel I suppose. The top of the stapler remains parallel to the base when pushed down, rather than pivoting from the back. The stapling action doesn't require too much effort but what does require effort is picking the stapler up as it is very heavy for what it is.It would be easier to lift and use if it stood upright so you could grab it for 'air-stapling'.With just a few sheets, the staple legs don't fasten as securely and protrude enough to catch your fingers when handling the papers.I've found other flat clinch staplers to be less reliable than the B-shaped ones so the 5 year guarantee is welcome but it seems restrictive that it only applies if you use their own staples.
