So we only got one of these, so we didn't get to test the nesting features or the rattle free nature of the silicon foot, but I can see how it would work and make for a nicer hike with it in a pack not rattling around.That aside... it's a plate, but it's a plate that feels like it's pretty well made and the rubber foot on the bottom means it's not going to slide around on whatever surface you have. That's handy if you happen to have uneven surfaces available like rocks or logs or whatever. I prefer plates that don't dump my food on the ground.A little pricey, but if you're willing to pay it's worth it.

If money is no object, this is a great lightweight plate, and the stainless steel means it won't stain, and can be scrubbed (you can't use it directly on the heat however, as it has a slip-resistance ring on the bottom). However, if you need four of them for a backpacking family, it will be a lot of money. So: quality five stars. Price: depends on your pocketbook. There are other plates to be had for less, but this one has a nice lip to keep food safely on the plate, and can be a serving plate, a 'bowl' to mix a small amount of food, etc. If you have to carry it in your backpack, it definitely serves the "light and strong" purpose. If it's for your car camping kit, weigh the price against the plate.
