Gets nice and cold
I bought this because I need ice packs for my knee, for holidays. As others have said, you need hard pressure to activate, but I managed fine. It gets cold enough to make a difference to the swelling on my knee. Reckon it lasts about 20-25 minutes. Perfect for my needs. Will be buying a pack of 25

Convenient and Effective Ice Packs for On-the-Go Relief
I bought the Instant Ice Pack set because I often deal with muscle strains and minor injuries from regular workouts, and I wanted a quick solution for relief without needing to store packs in the freezer. Having 25 of these on hand seemed like a great idea for both convenience and emergencies, especially when I’m travelling or out and about. These ice packs are incredibly easy to use. A simple squeeze and shake activate them, and they get cold almost instantly. I’ve used them a few times after a workout, and they provide enough chill to soothe sore muscles and reduce swelling. They’re also great for first aid. I had one ready when my partner had a sprained ankle, and it helped a lot with immediate pain relief until we could get to the chemist. The pack size is generous, and they’re perfect for keeping in the car, gym bag, or even at home for unexpected injuries. The individual packs are compact, so they don’t take up much space, making them ideal for travel or to keep a few in the cupboard without clutter. One thing to note, however, is that the cold doesn’t last as long as a reusable ice pack. After about 15-20 minutes, they start to lose their chill, which is fine for short-term relief, but you might need a second one if you need longer cooling. That being said, they’re meant for instant use, so I wasn’t expecting them to last forever.Overall, these instant ice packs are a great value for money. They’re reliable, easy to use, and perfect for on-the-go situations. The only improvement would be if they stayed colder for longer, but for what they are, they do the job well. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to stock up on convenient first-aid supplies.

Handy quick cool ice packs ,simple to use
25 x Instant ice packs from VSafety StoreEasy to use quick cool packs - squeeze to pop the internal sachet and shake well until cold effect is produced .I found the internal sachet quite hard to pop despite squeezing hard and was worried about the outer bag splitting but it’s plenty strong enough to give a hard squishOnce the internal sachet pops you can feel the cool starting to spread through the bag . Great if you want to keep a drink or food cool .Also good for a headache or to cool neck area if feeling hot. The bags are about the size of a small bag of peas so would also be ideal for cooling an injury re swelling or pain without being too cold .Lightweight ,great for travel ,in first aid kit or camping - dispose of in the bin.Fairly good value at approx 60p each at time of review . Would probably only use when no other option - mostly for first aid and emergency cooling as they are single use .Made in the UK

Such a great idea for so many applications
I never knew something like this existed and when I first saw, thought I must give them a go as if they work as expected there are so many different ways I could use them. This is for a pack of 25 ice packs and unlike ones that you need to freeze yourself, they just need squeezing and shaking, then almost instantly they become very cold. I'm also impressed by how long they stay cold for.My uses for these are for taking camping with me to keep food and drinks cool, taking on holiday to do the same, easing muscle aches and pains, plus also sometimes to keep my lunch cool when I'm not going to be near a fridge. Overall I'm really impressed and will look to get some more when I've finished these. Recommended.

Scary to use but useful for chilling food and drink – or treating sprains
I couldn't actually activate any of the bags from this set of 25 instant cold packs. I tried everything but failed dismally and told the person in the shop who was curious and tried to do so themselves. It took a few goes but they eventually managed to burst the interior packet but flinched doing so, fearing it was about to explode on the counter and make a mess – which had also been my fear, no matter how hard I tried to squeeze or twist it.The bag went cold really quickly, even before I shook it a few times but I couldn't activate it and they didn't feel safe doing so, which is a real shame.I loved using heat packs where you just shake them or click a piece of metal inside to activate them but this cold pack is so much harder and it's scary to use because you literally need to burst an interior pack.It stayed cold but not as effectively as an old-fashioned ice block, it was more in just that one area of the cool bag where it was place that the chilled effect could be felt. BUT it's practical if you are able to activate it. Useful for camping, days out or weekends away and also from sprains and injuries from playing sport or, like me, just being accident prone or clumsy. It's a 3* for me because it was just too hard for me to use without help but I love the idea of it when going to the shops or market, for example, and needing to keep cheese or meat etc cool in a small cool bag. Or taking a can of Pimm's or bottle of wine to an event, or buying it en route.

Really Cool
A great product to have when you are out and about with no access to your bag of frozen peas. To activate is a bit of a worry at first as the pressure needed (which is a good thing to prevent premature chills) is a bit more than you expect the outer bag to cope with - but it does. Once working it lasts quite a while - similar to how a modern gel hot pad would. It doesn't get as cold as the bag of peas so it is safe to use without a towel.Great value and a really useful cold bag which can also be added to your cool bag after your frozen gel packs have given up.
