It’s a nice $250 LP all day long.
Great neck and frets.Finish on the body was very nice with no blemishes. The sound is ok… A replacement set of pups would make it better, but the stock pups are tolerable. The tuners are not great and replacements would greatly improve the performance and playability, but the guitar is fairly playable out of the box.I replaced the stock strings with 11-56s, reset intonation and bridge height and tuned it to drop B and other than the tuners being a bit on the sloppy side it is a pretty decent guitar for $250.

Can't go wrong with this guitar at this price
Out of the box setup is (for my taste and playing) excellent. Intonation is spot on, fret spacing is even, and stainless frets are level. Action is very low and fast without touching the truss rod. I made sure to remove the protective film over the pickups and plugged into a Roland micro-cube amp for quick test. Pickups sounded pretty hot at full volume on guitars, and they will definitely drive your distortion to any level you choose. Turning back volumes on pots tamed the guitar as I would expect. Actual impedance (ohms) on bridge 9.67, neck 7.79, combined 4.31. Neck coul be a bit lower for some tastes, but without swapping out the pups you can solve the "heat: with the volume pots. If you like 50s-60s-70s sounds this guitar will do it all with no single coil hum. I was able to go from growling bass to twinkling harmonic chimes with no problems. Set the switch to center, or neck only with a little treble gain and got a nice clean jazz for fingerpicking style. Select bridge with center tone, add the effects of your choice and play rockabilly to the heaviest metal. Switch back to both and kick up the treble for a nice country twang. My primary guitars (electric) are an Epiphone Thayer Signature Les Paul and an original 78 Ovation Preacher both of which cost well over $1000.00. I will not go so far as to say the Fojill is their equal, but it gives both a heck of a run at <1/4 the cost. If you are a new player, or and acoustic player wanting to try electric, this is a good starting point which may be suitable for years to come. Unlike the other Fojill electrics I have purchased (now at #7), this model has a set neck of very straight aand close grained roasted canadian maple, and the grain is oriented to minimize bowing. Keep this in a reasonable humidity and temperature range and it should last quite a long time. Also note that this model does have flat back and the front belly curve you expect on the Les Paul style. Only one issue I personally found is a slightly more rounded neck, but several of my other guitars have the same profile. Not at all a negative per se, but noticeable when changing guitars while playing. This guitar I will HIGHLY RECOMMEND for new or first time electric players, and the same goes for anyone who wants/needs a Les Paul champagne sound on a beer budget. If this lasts three years of my playing and lugging around as I will do, I will know I got more than my money's worth of use and enjoyment. I can't wait to wear out the "stock" strings so I can try a few of my favorites to see how/if the sound can be improved for performance.
