Bright gold.
At first wasn't too thrilled with brightness but after the paint and stain dried I did appreciate the contrast. Just tried a shade other than antique or stressed finish.

A decent and versatile gold leaf suspension
This metallic gold paint is basically liquid gold leaf. When you look at it closely, it is gold leaf particles in a suspension. I thought this would be thin, but the consistency is thick and gloopy. This is definitely not an all-purpose paint. It will react differently with every material you use it on. For color saturation, it works best on wood and metal. It is more translucent on paper and fabric. I used it on black cotton/polyester fabric thinking that it would really show up but it sort of just soaked into the fibers and remained muted. It layers over other mediums well, primarily acrylic and alcohol markers. This isn't my favorite paint, but depending on how you use it, it does a good enough job.

Does the job well
We purchased these to use on mostly plastic materials and it works excellent for this. It also works well in an airbrush gun too! I have tried a few different technics on getting gold colors from my acrylic paints. Most gold colors aren't very gold looking but more gold styled. This is what I was looking for personally. I happy with the amount and the way it looks when dried. On top of that it is super easy to clean off of my smudgers and brushes.

Nice golden paint!
Depending on the surface this paint is applied to, it could skew transparent or opaque. When I applied this to a prepared cotton canvas, I could see right through the first layer to the surface beneath. But when I applied it to paper, the paint appeared to have a much higher opacity. Interesting! There's a high concentration of what looks like mica suspended in the medium that gives it a moderate sheen in real life. Nothing too gaudy. It's easy to clean the paint off your brushes with soap and water.4 stars.

Great metallic gold color
This is the perfect gold paint and the fact that it is non-toxic is the icing on the cake.

rich looking color!
I recently purchased this acrylic paint and I really like the metallic gold color. It is a pearlescent effect that is quite beautiful and I also like that it is non-toxic and doesn't fade. It's perfect for the project I am working on and this gold color is going to pop! My one daughter likes to make things out of modeling clay and this will be perfect for her also! Great paint and I recommend it.

Works well where I need most.
I love incorporating gold in many of my projects. I’ve never tried an of the Matio products, so I thought I would give it a try.I think I was expecting the paint to be a little thicker. I found that when applied to glass, I had to go over it a number of times to get the expected result. It did work well when incorporated into some of my watercolor work. While it did not provide the coverage I needed when it came to some things, it worked quite well when it came others.

Wish It Was Thicker
I ordered this Matio Acrylic Paint Metallic Gold, 120ML Pearlescent Effect Gold Leaf Paint to use on a gel plate.Lately, I've been doing a lot of photo transfers using a gel plate. I wanted to try printing on black using this paint. Unfortunately, it is not thick enough to produce good results on a gel plate. I did try painting some on watercolor paper and it seems to work fine.
