I bought this basket to hold our chicken eggs and it's perfect. The wide opening is easy to reach your hand into and it holds a lot of eggs. We had 18 in it at one time and it was half full (if that). It also looks really cute on the counter. 10/10 would recommend.

Since we have begun using the wire basket, we have had no further issues with broken eggs. The wire basket certainly serves its purpose of getting the eggs safely in the house.The reason that I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is for two things. First, the handle is extremely rough, as if the handle had been left in the rain too long and became warped. Be prepared to sand it into submission if it bothers you. Secondly, there is the issue of the texture of the basket. It is also rough to the touch and feels almost as if it has a layer of rust under the finish. Since the texture is metal, one would assume that it would be smooth. However, this is not the case. It is certainly not a deal breaker. We still use it and it functions fine for what it is, it just came as a surprise to me. Neither of these issues would prevent me from recommending this item. However, those who are heavily tactile might want to take this into consideration.

Large capacityCan easily hold several dozen eggs.I put a small dish towel in bottom for a bit of cushioning to protect eggs.The handle is Large enough I can slip it up to my elbow (I'm a large woman with big arms) but my hubby can not. The wooden part of the handle is a bit rough (sanded but no eurathane).

This is so handy for collecting eggs from the coop. The shape of it means that even the kids can carry them without spilling the eggs on the ground to beak. The wire is soft (which may pose a durability issue in the long run, but time will tell), which means it gives a little when the eggs are dropped in, preventing breakage. It even looks kind of nice and rustic sitting on the counter near the door to the backyard from the kitchen.I would definitely recommend.

Use this to gather eggs from my 35 chickens. It could hold many more eggs than my chickens lay. I think at most they have laid about 18 in one day. No problem fitting 'em all in. Plus, the wire aspect (as opposed to , way, wicker) makes it much easier to clean if one of the eggs breaks (hasn't happened yet) or one of the eggs has some poo on it (happens all the time). And it's a cool shape.

Are use it to collect my farm eggs every day. It is very nice basket that you can just have sitting on the counter and it looks like a decoration. It holds about three dozen eggs.

Arrived before due date, , much bigger than l expected (in a good way) will make a wonderful egg basket or fruit
