I bought this for my friend. Everytime I visited her her poor puss cat was struggling to walk because her nails were getting caught in the carpet every time she walked and in visitors clothing every time she climbed on a lap. As a result, she was being pushed away because she was damaging clothing.I bought these and next time I was there cut her puss cats claws. Her cat has thick toenails and this cut through them easily. She was very calm and didnt mind at all.When you cut be very careful not to cut too short into the 'quick' (the pink nail base) as this will cause unimaginable pain (think having your own nails ripped out!! Owwww!!!)I like this because its small. I have seen larger more commercial looking cat scissors but in my opinion if its too large it would be hard to get accuracy. I'd be scared of cutting part of her paws off! :(If your cat frets and gets stressed when cutting her claws, spray a little Feliway or Catnip spray to calm her down.I have never used this on anything other than a cat but I can see that these would be perfect for rats, guinea pigs, rabbits etc. Leave the larger clippers for dogs.Nice scissors, easy and cheap too. Highly recommended.

I was looking for a nail clipper to use on a stray cat that we have now accepted as one of our own. When we brought her in, she was really dirty, stinky and her nails were huge! We waited for ages to see any form of contact from the owners but, there was none. The first thing we did was feed her, then we ended up giving her regular baths, a collar etc... But, her nails were huge.Anyways, whilst I was browsing amazon and buying items that I don't necessarily need (as we all do) I luckily cane across the nail clipper! Anyways, as it came, I decided to cut my cats nails. Luckily, there's also some instructions on the back to show you what / where to cut. Anyways, she was fine with her nails being clipped and was really calm about it. However, the best thing has got to be that the clipper is sharp although it may not look like it. Thus, you efficiently cut your cats nails nice and quickly!Please note, if you're buying the clipper for any animal besides a cat, you can go ahead and read "cat" as the animal you intend to clip.

OK - these are very cheap and I was a bit sceptical about them but they cut through my cat's claws very easily with my mum sitting on him!My cat Hamish has claws like needles which grow very quickly and it was costing me £12 every time I had to get the vet's nurse to do it.He also hates this process and the nurse's face fell very time I took him there, so I decided to go down the DIY route. I did try this on my own but the neighbours must have thought there was a murder going on, so these are ideal for someone with a placid, amenable pet. With my mum's assistance though, the job was done quickly.I do not have a dog but the cutting area is quite small and I would be surprised if they would cut the much larger, thicker claws that dogs have.I would definitely recommend these for small animals.

Ordered these for my pet cat whom is old and stresses bout the vet clipping claws, the product itself arrived quick and packaged well. The idea is great and they work fine but I'm seriously gonna invest Ina stronger dearer pair I think as I find these just not strong enough, a bit flimsy, the handles are plastic and rubber and really with a cat in one hand or nearby I need a sturdy handle. Great for maybe younger cats or non indoor older card who's nails don't get to wear down.

they did a good job but i had to do the cat holding and my partner the cutting as the holes in the scissors were a bit small for my big fingers, even with the rubbers removed, so if you have big fingers you may want to consider a larger pair from the same seller

Great value. Works very well on small pets. Do not use on medium/large dogs though (I have not tried, but it is rather small so it is not really suitable for that). I really like this product especially compared to the same thing being sold at a much higher price from other sellers.I am using it with a bunny rabbit. Recently I did get a nail grinder as well, and find that actually even better than this one. However, if pet's nails are quite long it would be perfect to cut them shorter with this and then file down the rest with the grinder.If you found my review helpful, please can you let me know by clicking yes.

These are good value and a very useful item if you are fed up with being scratched by pets (particularly being kneaded by cats when they're happy). There's a lot of a claw which is without blood or nerves so the cat feels it no more than you feel when you cut your nails.I do feel there is room for them to be sharper, when cutting wider diameter claws the clippers act more by pressure than as a blade and the claw can splinter a bit leaving a more ragged end.

I used these on my cat who is very skittish, I have to wear my suede gloves as she bites and scratches.... I was concerned I wouldn't fit my gloved fingers into the finger holes but I found out that the Red bits actually pop out for the larger fingered person, so they worked great and gave a nice clean cut.
