East Coast Backpacking Must-have
I got these leg gaiters for backpacking. I live on the east coast and most of the mountains are quite wet. If water isn't coming down, plants are still wet and bushy. The gaiters do a good job keeping you relatively dry. They work best paired with a long coat/poncho or rain pants, but they do help keep water out of your books even without that. I frequently wear waterproof boots, but they don't stop water from getting in as it runs down your legs. The gaiters prevent a great deal of that. In pouring rain, if you don't have cover for the top of the gaiters, they can only do so much, but with the right expectations they perform well. I think the quality is pretty good and they are fairly light to carry along. I like the color (I got the pretty pink and blue variegated design) and they are easy to spot in a bag or on your person in pouring rain. They stay in place well with the top cinch and the boot strap.

Cute gaiters, a little trickier to use than necessary
The graphic illustration on these gaiters is really beautiful and the color is a fun addition to snow clothes. The design of the gaiter itself is a bit wonky, making a few things harder to use than necessary. However, they will be a great addition to my winter gear for snow showing and XC skiing

Good gators
These are a lightweight set of gators and that is a good thing for me. I use them when I have to weed whack an area with lots of poison ivy in the summer with a large gas powered weed whacker. They protect my lower legs perfectly. I used to get poison ivy once in a while before I got these, even with washing my legs well afterwards. I got nothing this summer. I really should have gotten these sooner. I also used them on a hike or two and did not get any rocks in my shoes. I like that they are not heavy so my lower legs do not sweat too much when I'm wearing them. The lace lock thing is kind of a pain to get off and the strap that goes under my shoes are still all together and working well after a summer of use.

Good Winter Leg Gaiters
These gaiter look good on and fit pretty nicely. They fit well enough that I feel I could do some good hiking in them without them falling down or needing constant readjustment. For me they come almost up to my knee, since I have short legs. I wanted something that I could use in bad weather to cover my leggings to keep them from catching water or mud spray from walking. These gaiter come in a lot of different colors too, which was nice. They look modern and cool when on. I found them easy to put on and they attached well under the shoe without interfering with walking. Overall, comfortable and useful gaiters for use in bad weather or while hiking.

Clip for boot laces is made of plastic and likely to break in very cold conditions
In preparation for hiking and snowshoeing this coming winter I ordered these Waterproof Leg Gaiters to better protect my feet from deep wet snow. The gaiters made from a waterproof material and the top pull cord helps keep the gaiters from slipping down while walking. The hook-and-loop enclosure strips are quite wide and hold just fine when new. Time will tell how well the enclosure works after repeated uses. One negative aspect of these gaiters is the bottom clip that attaches the front bottom of the gaiters to your boots. The clip is made of plastic which in very cold conditions has a pretty high probability of breaking from my cold weather experience plus the clip design makes it difficult to clip onto boot laces and almost impossible to remove from your boot laces. If the clip had been metal and was not so difficult to clip and unclip my rating would be notably higher.

I'm impressed
I typically use leg gaiters for walking in the snow (in lieu of getting higher boots), but since I got these in the summer, I figured the best way to test them out was to keep the bottoms of my pants dry on a backpacking trip where it was supposed to rain all weekend. After hiking out in a downpour/thunderstorm, I can say that the only part of me that was somewhat dry was my shins, despite being covered head-to-toe in rain gear. So if that's not a glowing review, I don't know what is.Specific things I like - 1) the bottom strap that goes under your foot is coated in a smooth waterproof material, so it doesn't just soak in all the wet and the mud, 2) the piece that hooks onto your shoe laces is made of a hard plastic so it won't rust (I've had that happen with gaiters before) and it seems to attach/detach very easily but securely, 3) the carrying bag is very handy for keeping things compact and clean, and 4) the patterns and colors are nice and I got a compliment on them.Only one thing I don't like - they are pretty loose on my legs when I first put them on. Cinching up the top and connecting everything on the bottom still keeps them in place nicely, but I think I would like it if they fit a little more snugly. I am also just a woman with slim legs, so this would be a total non-problem if you wear chunkier pants or have a thicker lower leg than I do, so I'll still give them 5 stars.
