ZENS Tea Mug with Infuser and Lid, 400ml Embossed Ceramic Tea Cup with Strainers

I really like the Zenz china tea cup with strainer. Their designs are really different and I think a lot of thought has been put into the design.The cup comes with a beechwood handle that is easy to hold and comfortable to use.The strainer also has a beechwood lid to keep the heat in when brewing but can also double as a coaster for the strainer. It's body is unglazed so may be subject to staining. The stainless strainer is very fine so there is little chance of getting 'tea fleas' if you are using a fine leaf to brew with. Concievably you could make coffee in it but I have not tried this (don't drink coffee).The cup itself is matte glazed outside and shiny glazed inside so should be fine for washing but it's not dishwasher safe - I guess because of the wooden handle. The cup is a good size for me - others preferences may be different.The cup is reasonable value for money in my opinion considering the overall quality.It comes in premium packaging so absolutely perfect for gifting just wrap it up and it's ready to go.

Lovely item, very well made, definitely feels like a top quality piece. I love the wooden handle - I have large hands and I can't properly hold most cups and mugs, this one is very good.The mug comes in a large printed box with superb packing - no expense has been spared and the mug would make a great gift for a fussy tea enthusiast.I was attracted to this because I thought I could easily make good tea in the mug (instead of a pot), remove and discard the used loose tea and keep the tea hot with the wooden lid. Half of this turned out to be the true: I can definitely make really good tea from loose leaves in the mug without a pot - fantastic! The wooden lid works fine when the infuser is in the mug, but doesn't fit the mug once the infuser is removed.I have tried those little balls, cylinders with holes, metal baskets on chains and all manner of other things you can put tea leaves in and dangle in your hot water, but none of them leave enough tea leaf expansion room or swirling space. The large infuser in this mug is a bit of a game changer.One more thing to be aware of: If you pull out the infuser - which quickly drains - to check the colour of your tea, DON'T ATTEMPT TO PUT IT BACK IN THE MUG (or drop it back in like I did). The tea does not filter back up into the infuser and instead spill out all over your counter top.I like this mug. I use it a couple of times a week when I want good tea.

I'm a lover of hot drinks, particularly tea and coffee so I was interested in hot this cup would work. I know teabags often have plastic in the bags and making coffee in a caffetiere for just me seems silly to create the extra washing up, this cup set allows me to brew one cup of coffee which is great.The cup is really pretty with the embossed pattern and I like the matt ombre effect. The wooden outer of the handle insulates it so it doesnt get too hot which is handy and the lid keeps the drink warm while its brewing. The walls/bottom of the mug are quite thick which definitely keeps my drinks warmer than other mugs giving me extra time to enjoy. The insert is made from the same stoneware as the cup with a fine metal mesh at the bottom which allows water to circulate the tea leaves/coffee grounds but doesn't let any through into the drink. It does take a while for the water to drain through the mesh when you lift the insert out, but it's not too long and I really like that the lid can be used as a coaster for the insert, keeping my desk clean. The one drawback is the it isn't dishwasher or microwave safe, but that's a small price to pay for such an innovative design.Overall I think this is a thoughtfully designed, well made, and pretty mug set, it would make a great gift for any tea afficionado or coffee lover. I'd definitely recommend it, 5*

I got this for my mother in law, as she loves a loose leaf tea, and this is perfect for that.The cup itself is beautiful, and has a gorgeous beechwood handle. The strainer is also ceramic, with a metal bit at the bottom which looks good and fine. She will appreciate the lid to keep it hot while it steeps, and can also double as a coaster. She's going to love this, I'm really pleased. Would recommend.

The mug is beautifully designed but not heat proof ! If you touch if anywhere apart from the handle it’s piping hot! Not sure if mine is fault but may return if that’s normal 😞
