Not worth the money
First time buying a product for use in water, especially for lotus seeds. I found this product to have a lot of hard dirt in shape of small stones, which did not dissolve when introduced into water. My dirt was full of these hard pieces, I couldn’t even break them up with my hands both in and out of water. I did try to plant my lotus seeds after they had leaves but the next day they were just about dead. I feel this was not worth the money, ruined my plants and seemed difficult to work with. I would not buy this again! Very disappointed.

My Experience With This Product
I received this product a couple of days ago to go in my small man-made pond. I had no idea what to do with it because there were no instructions. The bag is full of small rocks and soil (like dirt). The product description says you can put it in water for water lilies. I packed an aquatic container with the lily and the contents of the soil. I then placed it in the pond and watched the soil/dirt dissolve into the water and create a muddy mess. I quickly removed it and let it sit in a bowl of water for a couple of days. I then noticed a clay-like mixture start to form. When I placed it back into the water, there wasn't as much mud, and after a few minutes, it was good. I'm anxious to see if my lily thrives in it.

Don’t start the process until you have received both the soil and the seeds!
While waiting for the soil to arrive I started the seeds in water. However it took weeks for the soil to arrive and my sprouts were way too long to plant properly.

Dirt
It's dirt.

Just as advertised, and packaged well.
The bag does contain small pebbles as well as the soil, but they do explain why. That type of clay soil takes some time to soften up. I broke it up by hand in the water, let it settle for a day then put the plants in it. They seem to like it!

Soil mixed with pebbles
The soil has abundant amount of pebbles in it. I've read these are not good for lotus flower. For the small amount of soil sent, value for money is not great. I have started to use patio soil mixed with river sand. Will not buy again. Antonio
