Decent image, horrible audio
Image is satisfying for movies and video games up to PS3.Sound is just embarassing. Sounds like a mobile phone speaker. If you have it as your main TV, you WILL need speakers.

Not as good as I hoped
Very disappointed. I bought this to replace the little TV in our kitchen thinking it would be at least as good as the previous Toshiba 19" we bought about 5 years ago. But I've only had it for a couple of hours and it already feels like a downgrade. The picture quality is OK but nothing special, but it's only for use in the kitchen and not a main TV so I wasn't looking for ultra high quality. But these are the downsides so far that are already making me regret buying it:Speed: It's so slow to react! Press the channel up/down arrows and you have to wait around 4-5 seconds for the next channel to appear, during which you've just got a blank black screen. 5 seconds might not sound like much but if you're channel surfing it feels like an age. Also just switching it on with the remote seems to take ages and you're never sure if it's reacted (tiny standby light that's barely visible).Sound quality: terrible. To be honest I expected that as it's common in all small screen TVs. But for all other TVs I've had before I just plug in a reasonable set of speakers to the headphone out of the TV and voila, instant improvement. But on this model the volume controls on the remote don't affect the headphone out settings so things like vol up/down and mute don't have any effect on the external speakers, they only control the actual TV speaker (which I instantly disabled because it's so bad). So there's another step (and another remote needed) to get a decent sound quality. All my old TVs have controlled the headphone out audio settings as standard so I don't know why there's not even an option in the settings to allow this.I checked if there were any firmware updates but the official Philips website doesn't even have the latest firmware for download (the 'latest' one on their website is older than the version already on the TV).At this price point I suppose I shouldn't expect much (also annoyingly it dropped in price by 20 quid the day after I bought it) but it still feels like a downgrade from our five year old smaller screen. I suppose it's my fault that I only checked the TV was actually working before I wall mounted it in our kitchen, otherwise I think I would have sent it back for a refund.

Empty the box and discover how to adjust the sound and picture!
It helped that I had read several reviews and knew what to expect. Otherwise I might have been less happy - because I only found the quick start guide before recycling the cardboard carton. When I removed the bottom layer of polystyrene, I discovered the guide, buried at the bottom of the box!If you take time to explore all the settings, there are ample opportunities to adjust the sound and vision.

A seriously impressive TV. You get a higher quality than what you pay for.
I bought this Philips TV to use primarily as a monitor for my computer but also for gaming on my PS4. I expected this TV to be good because of my past experiences with Philips products; they have always impressed me. Well this TV continues that impression. From a technical point of view, it has all the features you would normally only find in the bigger TV's, but there are little nifty extra features that prove that Philips really do go the extra mile - even with their budget products. For example; this TV allows the option of being able to connect headphones to it whilst still outputting sound through it's internal speakers. That is a good thing if you want to experience your movies or games in surround sound but don't have an AV reciever, you could connect the TV to your hifi using an AUX cable from the headphone output. The system menu/configuration menu is also packed with interesting additional features that I haven't came across with other TV's. I am impressed with this TV in every way, the picture quality is very impressive. I previously had a 32 inch Sony Bravia TV that I gave to someone else in my family as I have to downsize. The Sony is HDR, one of the first things I noticed about this Philips TV is that despite not being HDR, the color tone is just as vibrant as the Sony!! The clarity and sharpness of the Philips is also just as good, maybe even better.

Excellent clarity
Very pleased with this tv.The sound is tinny, which others have also said, BUT if you overlook this, the screen quality is superb, and for the price I paid £150 - an absolute steal!

Rubbish picture, rubbish sound and a channel change that takes for ever.
I wanted a cheap TV but buying this was a mistake, it's undoubtedly the worst TV I've ever owned. The picture quality is terrible, the sound quality is tinny and feeble and it takes for ever to change channels. Pay a bit more and get a decent TV.
