I was ridiculously happy (for a laundry product) when I saw it was back in stock. I tried other scents of the in wash beads and they just had too strong a fragrance for my personal taste. This one is light and fresh smelling, and really does keep the fabric smelling fresh for multiple wears or in storage. It is also the only one I can use as several people in my family have very sensitive skin and we use the free and clear detergent. This product does not give them any skin reaction. I'm a little bummed the price has jumped up over the last few years, but I think that is true of most products now a days. One more thing- I have found that if I use less than the recommended amount it still works well, but I think that is up to you and what works for you.

This fabric softener is ultra powerful and I don’t recommend doing laundry without it! I have been using this for years and I will continue to use it exclusively for years to come! Leaves our clothes soft, wrinkle free, static free, and has the perfect potency of lavender that is kind to your senses but lasts what seems like forever! No slimy residue is left behind and no random drop spots are left on your clothes as happened with different fabric softeners. This one is perfect!

The scent is fabulous, soft and fresh yet noticeable. I started using these on my teenage son's clothing and linens, it worked so well that I use them on just about everything now! I think these differ from the other scent beads as they seem to actually control the odor but the scent doesn't last as long.

First a little about me: I'm a natural fibers snob, usually don't like synthetic laundry products, and been a professional clothing designer, seamstress, and owned an alterations shop. In other words, I'm a fabric fanatic. Bought some of the scented version of this in Dollar general and was amazed at the results although I hated the synthetic scent. So when I searched for an unscented version I saw this here and bought four. I don't know how they do it, but it works wonders on both natural fibers and synthetic. The colors are noticeably richer from across the room. The improvement in the drape and hand of my clothing is quite noticeable. I upcycle a lot of used clothing from thrift stores and always wash it before I work with it. It even works on abused and mistreated fabrics. I never want to be without this stuff it's a real breakthrough product.

This variety of the Downy scented beads seems to keep clothing and linen fresh longer than the others. I've pulled out clothes for a new season thinking I'd have to wash them first, but they smell almost as fresh as when I put them away at the end of the season.

I moved into an apartment that didn't have a fabric softener dispenser drawer in the washing machine I tried the Downey balls but it just made a mess and marked my clothing. Found these Defy beads and love them. Have made a huge difference to my clothing. The only issue I have is that if you use a cool/cold wash then the beads don't alway dissolve. So it helps to dissolve them in hot water and add to the drum. Overall, very pleased but wish they were a little cheaper.

I use this in a gentle cycle when washing my blankets. It seems to extend the life of them by keeping them softer for a much longer period of time.

I use all 4 of this scent when I wash and not only does my laundry come out smelling great but my clothes have held up great over the years! I am always complimented on how great I smell, like clean laundry. At one point in time I had three indoor dogs, when people came to my home no one was ever able to tell that I had pets living in my home and I credit that to this laundry softener. I just wish that I could find the fabric softener easier.

The unique part about this compared to the others in this line is that it has Febreze built in – so if you’re a fan of using Febreze in your home to freshen fabric and the air – this may be calling your name. All of the different scents are identical to use so my reviews are similar for all, but they are SO easy. You just pour in how many beads you want per load – more beads for larger loads, and just wash and do your laundry like usual. The result is amazing smelling clothes that stay fresh and have the Downy scent for a few weeks until you use it. Because I have a "sensitive nose", I don't tend to like scented laundry detergents. Unfortunately, when it comes to detergent the intensity of the scent is linked to how much detergent you use and that's often not something you can adjust without affecting the wash quality.So these in-wash scent beads offer a much easier way to do it: you just add however much you want/need.Whether you like the fragrance or not is going to be a personal preference, but I do find that some scents work better for towels and sheets, while others are amazing for everyday clothing. This one in particular is made for active wear, so it's particularly good for jerseys, yoga clothing, gym apparel, etc.A little goes a long way and I often use only a small amount for most regular loads (a teaspoon or a little more) although for much larger loads or for towels or things I'll be putting into storage, I will use a little more.The ingredients in this product are literally just perfume, coloring, and a perfume carrier. Even for my "sensitive nose", I'm no bothered by the subtle scents.I didn't think I'd keep using a product like this, but both my wife and I love it so we'll keep using it!

I'm kind of tough to please with scents, I am not usually huge fans of fruity scents, don't like floral ones much at all, and gravitate more towards for lack of a better way to describe it "traditional" laundry/detergent scents that aren't really aiming to be recognizable as something else. This "active fresh" scent is a winner for me and I can see myself using this regularly in all sorts of ways. If I had to stretch to describe a specific part of it I might say it has a hint of citrus but only a hint, and really is just an overall fresh laundry smell. It's a strong smell but it isn't overpowering, noticeable but not in-your-face. I like it.Apart from that - like all of these scent "boosters", it's easy to use, just throw it in the drum when doing a wash and that's the end of it. But I use these scent boosters for all sorts of non-laundry related things, they're good for deodorizing all sorts of things by just leaving a bit of it in a small cup around the house or my favourite use is to sprinkle it around the interior perimeter of the detached garage to keep it from smelling musty. One bottle goes a hugely long way.
