Very comfortable and good for temporary replacement
The earpads have a soft, almost velvety texture without the fabric/woven feel of the Apple-original earpads. The cutouts are for sound passthrough appear to all be the same, but after a few days of use, it was evident that there was something different in how the ambient sound (and active noise cancellation (ANC) to a lesser degree) were negatively impacted. For the ambient sound mode, the headphones would occasionally emit a high pitch squeal at low volume, and if anything pressed up against the headphones, then this squeal would get much louder — similar to microphone-speaker feedback.I purchased these because an Apple AirPods Max repair sent my AirPods back to me without the earpads, and it took a couple weeks (!), several emails, texts, and phone calls to resolve the issue with Apple. While I was waiting, I purchased these to hold me over, but the squealing got to be so annoying that I shelled out $69 for a new set of original Apple earpads. I’ll keep these around to use while I’m letting my Apple earpads dry from a cleaning… it’ll just be for a day, which should be fine.

Good for the most part
These are pretty good. I wish they had a little more filling in the inside. The protein leather is soft but you can see in my photo there is dimpling and they’re slightly more narrow than the ear pads that came with my original AP Maxs’. Overall not a bad product, I’m just not sure I would buy them again for the price point which is the only reason I’m giving 4stars. Had these been like $25 I would have given it 5/5.

They work very well.
I have had over the ear headphones for the past 15 years. I also always go for the leather over cloth. I tried the apple ones and they are ok for cloth but I found them scratchy. I love this set they feel really good.As for sound Quality: I did some back to back testing with apple ear covers, this set of ear covers and 2 other $300 head sets.AirPod max with apples ear cup: They are as close as you can get to the feel of a big stereo. -90/100–AirPod Max leather ear cups: Very close to apple but a little less base.-87/100-Other head phones: Astro, Sony, Audio tech: all fall under 70/100. After comparing them to APM.So day to day usage do I miss the 3%. … nope. I like the Comfort. When I want the extra 3% I switch back to apples. If you are at the point of reading reviews you should get them. They will make you happy.

Great for the price. Minimum acrifices for cost effeciancy.
These are a great, lower priced alternative for the stock AirPodS Max earcups. The leather feels decent quality, the difference in ANC is negligible. I can still watch my Apple TV with my (loud) in room A/C running. They do run a little warmer on the ear than the mesh Apple version, so if you’re up and about, you may notice that.Tolerances are good, which is something I pay attention to and usually leads me to avoid non-Apple accessories like this. Id say they’re on par with Comply AirPods Pro 2.0 tips. For the price, and after a week of normal use, Id say go for em’ if you’re on the fence.

Super comfortable at the expense of sound quality
Are these the most comfortable earpads you could have for your AirPods Max? Yes, yes they are. Do they sound good? No, no they don't.There's a muddiness that gets introduced as well as less spatial sound. I couldn't tell you why exactly. Apple magic with their OEM earpads? Or maybe it's just the material used and how the sound bounces around - maybe these absorb more sound than they should. Whatever it is, I can't wholly recommend these. They will feel great on your head but you also won't feel like you're listening to $500 headphones anymore.
