It works well, but takes time
This jewellery cleaner comes supplied with a 1 litre bottle of cleaning solution, instructions, mains lead, jewellery basket. It holds approximately 400ml of water, to which you need to add one or two capfuls of the cleaning solution. It works best of the water it hot from a tap (around 50 degrees), not boiling from a kettle.Once the water if added to the unit, the cleaning solution is added, and the instructions recommend putting the machine into a degassing mode for a 180 second cycle first, to remove any trapped bubbles and improve the cleaning performance. This is done by pressing the power button followed by the 'M' mode button. Unfortunately there is no indication on the digital display that the degassing mode has been activated. The only way to tell is that the vibration noise stops and starts rather than being continuous as it is when in cleaning mode. Be aware that the noise this machine makes is quite a loud buzzing that my cat absolutely hated!I tested the cleaner with a couple of very tarnished silver rope chain bracelets. Initially I put the unit on for 3 minutes (180 seconds), with one capful of the cleaning solution in the water. This seemed to have very little effect initially, but the instructions do state that multiple cycles may be required for heavy tarnishing. Next, I put the unit on for it's maximum cycle time of 480 seconds (8 minutes). I was again not entirely convinced the unit was doing any cleaning at all, as the bracelets were still dirty.Next, I added a second capful of the cleaning solution to the water, and started another 480 second cycle. This time, the bracelets came out very clean (see the before and after photos I have uploaded to the this review). The liquid in the unit was also very cloudy, and I was shocked to see there were even small particles of dirt that had been cleaned from the bracelets. This was a harsh test for the jewellery cleaner, as the bracelets were very dirty, but with regular use to keep jewellery in tip top condition, I think it will be very effective indeed.

Doesn't remove silver tarnish
Thought this would be good for cleaning some silver which cloths were not working on.Turns out this had no effect either.Am I expecting too much?

Takes some practice to use
Using this jewellery cleaner is not just a matter of putting items to be cleaned in the machine and turning it on. From what I have gathered from a bit of reading up and trying out over the past week is that you really need to take some time to achieve the right timing and solution for different items. Most of my jewellery is not really dirty but we do have some items inherited which need a lot more care and attention. The instructions do suggest that it might take more than one clean for some items and in my experience, this is the case. I also adjusted the dilution of the cleaning solution (supplied) which gave better results the second time around. I’m not sure that this is something which I would buy and store long term but it has been useful to use for those older items and will offer it out to friends and family to use too.

Well made and a good size, cleaning solution included
Pro-Kleen Ultrasonic Jewellery Cleaner And Cleaning SolutionI was previously sceptical about ultrasonic cleaners until my wife purchased one recently. She popped her leg bracelet in and it came out clean and sparkly, all the inbuilt grime and tarnish was gone. This Pro-Kleen model is much larger, internally, it measures 15.5 long x 9.4 wide x 5cm deep, although you can only fill to 4cm. This is so big that a pair of spectacles will easily fit inside. This arrives packed in a much larger box, the reason for this is that a 1ltr bottle of cleaning solution is also included. The solution is a welcome addition as we didn't have this with our previous cleaner. The solution has to be diluted 20-1 with water so this bottle should last a while. The unit itself is made from a tough looking matt white plastic with a lift off lid. Internally it has a stainless steel liner with a level marker near the top. I was pleased to find a plastic basket included, this sits inside the cleaner, the liner can be lifted in or out without having to poke your fingers into the solution. This is so easy to use. I would suggest placing the objects to be cleaned into the basket first and lowering them into the cleaner. After this just pour the diluted solution into the tank filling to the max line. On the front is a small screen, along with 3 buttons which are: Timer, Power, Mode. The timer can be set anywhere between 90 - 480 seconds, so it doesn't take that long to clean. With our previous model we did on occasion have to insert jewellery a couple of times to completely clean it, but we didn't have the correct cleaning solution for that model. I did test this Pro-Kleen model out with a necklace that was looking a little grubby, I was pleased to find that came out sparkly clean after just one insertion.Overall, this appears well made and certainly works. I like that I can pop my glasses in this periodically to clean any grease or grime that may build up around the edge of the lenses.CONTENTS:1 x Ultrasonic Cleaner1 x Power Cable1 x Internal Basket1 x 1ltr Cleaning Solution1 x User guideThank you for reading my review, I hope you have found it helpful.
