Worth it!
TLDR: it worked great on a 2024 VW Atlas and 2018 GMC Sierra. There’s a slight delay between sound and picture, but not enough for me to care. Defiantly worth the money!I do a lot of traveling putting on a few thousand miles a year zig zagging North Dakota for work. I bought the Ottocast and an Amazon firestick hoping to be able to watch some of the podcasts that I listen to on the road. (Ottocast was $70, firestick was $30, I’ve definitely spent more money on stupider things, so I wasn’t worried if it didn’t work) It took a little while to figure out the car’s Bluetooth and connections, but once I did; this worked great! I used the hotspot on my phone for internet, logged into my own accounts on each app, and was able to see what I was listening to.Now, there is a slight delay between picture and sound, but that’s fine since I’m focusing on driving and not really paying attention to what’s on the screen. (But it does help when they show what they’re talking about)I hooked it up in my pickup one weekend when taking my kids on a 2 hour roadtrip. They loved it! They did not care at all that there was a delay, and I got to drive in peace!

Not worth even $40 let Alone $100
The interface isn’t as friendly as other adapters I’ve had no way to get back to the main menu once you’re in CarPlay doesn’t seem as nice as some of the others I’ve had very simple customer service was not great. Customer service gave me a very generic answer and ended it by saying have a nice life essentially saying I won’t be hearing back from them. Do not waste your money.

Does what it's supposed to do
Got this device and lets just say it's straight forward...I have a Genesis gv70...plugged it into the USB spot for car play...boom it's a option that pops up for HDMI...I plug my game into it my phone into it basically whatever takes HDMI...I mean the play is a bit laggy with the games...videos decent ...but it gets the job done ....I play Hulu for my kids when I'm driving.... definitely a good investment for the tech people

Doesn’t work perfect
This is a great concept but it comes across scratchy on the screen and sometimes has a delay

Decent needs some workarounds to make it work effectively
I order this and tried it on my 2025 hyundai santa fe to hdmi. Here is my experience for some of you it might help.First my car was being weird because I already had wireless android setup so I had change profiles and turn off the car for like 5 minutes and then comeback to it and finally connected.I don't think that's the device fault but my cars. After that I was able to connect hdmi to my phone. It was very laggy and it hdmi lost signal many times. I figured I had a defective unit so I requested a replacement for it.Once the new unit arrived the disconnection issues were gone and it was stable. I was using my s23 with an usbc to hdmi cable. This setup made the audio fall behind and the video frame rate was sometimes janky. Some tips pausing a video and then restating playback helped a little. But actually enabling Samsung dex and launching video app from there solved all problems. The screen does not fill the whole car lcd but touching the screen an icon shows up and tapping on it cycles screen modes.Overall pretty good just make you get a good unit otherwise request a replacement

CarPlay works well, HDMI has problems.
Let’s talk about the good:Device is small and easy to hide so it’s not in the way.The CarPlay connection on my 2023 Kia Telluride is consistent and fast, with no noticeable lag. My phone connects within 10 seconds after getting into the car. This is small, but the wireless device has restored the use of the search keyboard on apps like Google Maps while driving. I appreciate this. The bad:The HDMI always connect, but within ten minutes of use the screen glitches out and the device crashes. I’ve tried using a direct HDMI to USB-C connection as well as an Apple TV.
