Really good coffee
We like the taste of this coffee: not so bitter but strong enough, well balanced. I would mix this one with Lavazza Crema for total perfection. Maybe will do just that.

No more Lavazza - Amazing Company
Update: Their beans are simply delicious 😋. I'm drinking Oro right now and it's smooth with perfectly balanced. In addition to ordering their beans on Amazon, I also ordered directly. They went above and beyond with my order and now I'm a customer for life! My quest for a better bean ends here!I've been on a quest to find a delicious bean for espresso. I've always defaulted to Lavazza because it's easy and I just accepted the slight burned taste.I discovered this bean on a "Best of" list. I'm so glad I ordered it. This bean results in the best espresso that I've ever brewed at home. The crema is perfection and the flavor is chocolate and smooth. No kidding what I made is as good as anything I've ever bought at any coffee shop.I would like a smaller bag but no worries on that because I'll just share with my partner. This will remain in my bean rotation for sure.

Similar to Lavazza
First, I've been pulling espresso shots and making lattes and cappuccinos in my La Pavoni Europiccola lever machines for around 23 years. I use a Baratza Vario, or a Rancillio Rocky burr grinder. I've tried a LOT of coffee produced in these excellent machines. There are many types of coffee available and produced here in Austin, Tx, and I generally go local. These include Cuvee, Ruta Maya, FARA, and others - these are all 100% arabica. BUT I like a change from time-to-time. I consider Ily Classico roast to be the best roast for my taste, but I will not pay the outrageous price for an 8oz can of Ily, nor for the vastly inferior and over hyped Cuvee. Let's not bring Charbucks into this. So I constantly search for others. That being said Caffè Borbone Crema Superiore falls into line with most other mid-grade Italian coffees sold in bulk. It is a blend of arabica and robusta, and a pretty good one - I would compare it favorably to Lavazza Crema E Aroma - very similar but slightly more complex with just a tiny hint of berries as one would find in single origin yirgacheffe. It's also a very forgiving blend on an over-pull or too fine a grind - does not get overly bitter. This is one of the better Arabica/Robusta blends I have tried, and It is well worth the money if you want a decent espresso and a reasonable price. Do not think you will get the same richness or depth of flavor as in the higher end Arabica coffees - you won't, but it is still very good and a lot better than many 100% arabicas I have tried.FARA and Ruta Maya are still the best buys around - roughy the same price as Cafe Borbone and 100% arabica. But Caffè Borbone Crema Superiore is a good coffee and a good value if you are looking a change.

Disappointed
The product arrived on time but the beans were roasted way back in August of 2023. I read other reviews and saw several people complain about the same thing. When I buy whole beans in person I always check dates. No way to do that here. The coffee produced excellent crema but the taste seemed not fresh what I am used to. This didn’t taste like a higher grade espresso as the info seem to sell it as. Everyone just needs to be aware of the mfg date on these beans. Most coffee aficionados never use beans that are that old. (7 mos old) You have to be better than that if you want business. Thank goodness Amazon refunded my money.

OLD Coffee, disappointed
A fresh roast and a fresh grind are extremely important factors when it comes to brewing great coffee.I grind my own beans so I’m able to have freshly grounds every day. Imagine my disappointment when I read that my bag of Crema Superiore was roasted eight months ago! Yep, It’s Oct.9th as I write this and my bag of beans was roasted in February. When you pay $22+ for a bag of coffee, it should be fresher than that. Yes, coffee is expensive and this is hardly the most expensive label, but why sell me old coffee when we know that the freshness hinges on the roast date? I’m guessing turnover at Amazon on this brand is too slow to get a freshly roasted product. If it isn’t freshly roasted when the shipment arrives at Amazon, they should work with Borbone on this?
