These tablets are very small, about the size of a green lentil flake, and are odourless. The source of folic acid is generally plant based, but you can also get from organ meat(liver) and eggs. The biggest plant based source for folic acid are brussels sprout and spinach, and if you are not too keen on them, this may be the supplement you need.This supplement has 800 mcg of Folic acid per serving. The maximum safe amount of folic acid you take in a day as a supplement is 1000 mcg.About vitamin b12, which is commonly found in non-vegan diet, this is a great supplement if you are a vegan.If you are eat a lot of animal product, you may not need to take B12 supplement, so I'd consult a GP beforehand.But if you are a vegan, you are likely to have some level of B12 deficiency, although a blood test may be needed for accuracy.

This supplement of folic acid, which I understand is the synthetic form of the vitamin folate, also known as B9, comes in a recyclable self seal pouch. It contains 400 tablets and the dose is one per day. In addition to the folic acid the tablets also contain vitamin B12 which is an added bonus. They are also vegetarian and vegan friendly.These are very small which makes them easy to swallow. I have been taking them for a while and have not had any adverse effects. It's is very good value as the supply will last over 13 months. I have also found that since taking it, I feel less tired as I would expect from folic acid.

Prescribed by GP FOR 3 months - informed would have to purchase after this period. Purchased these but reading reverse of packet discovered it categorically states NOT SUITABLE FOR THOSE OVER THE AGE OF 50.AND FOR ADULTS AGED OVER 18 AND UNDER 50 ONLY.
