Skinnies SunGel Sun Cream, 35ml, SPF30, Broad Spectrum, Water Resistant

I like the idea of a long lasting sun cream, especially one that's reef safe, but sadly this isn't it for me. Its definitely not a cream - more a oddly solid, greasy paste. I definitely had to apply far more than the pea they recommend for face and neck, and quite a lot more on arms and legs. Considering they claim the small 35ml highly expensive tube will provide 60 face and neck applications, this seems wildly inaccurate.It sits on the skin rather than being absorbed, so stays as a greasy film leaving marks on everything you touch. I ended up quite seriously overheating with this product, with a lovely spotty rash as a result of a relatively mild British early summer day, and burnt quite badly with only an hour exposure on an area with good product coverage.Really disappointed in this product, especially at the considerably high cost. I've since bought New Layer, also reef safe, and a billion times better for the skin and sun protection than Skinnies.

I bought this for my face because I find the oiliness of most sun creams really off-putting. I'm really pleased with it, it initially is a bit greasy (as all suncreams are) but it definitely dries in a bit and I find the texture left on my skin WAY more tolerable than with other suncreams. I still use P20 on my body because I've loads of that to use up but I think I'll be a Skinnies customer for life now. I also love that there's so few ingredients, and it doesn't bother my sensitive eczema prone skin whatsoever.

I liked this product for the first couple of days because it didn't sting my super-sensitive skin. I even e-mailed the manufacturers as was so impressed to begin with. Within a few days, the greasiness of the product started to concern me - I had to wear a primer on top otherwise my forehead was an oilslick within 3 hours. Still not too bad, until I compared my face today to when I started using this about 3 to 4 weeks ago, and realised that not only did I have more pimples in that time, I had a significant increase in hyperpgimentation (dark spots). So I have just rush-ordered two different Japanese sunscreens on eBay. Still no itchiness or redness from this product, but I'm not up for more dark spots when being sensitive to iron oxides means I can't wear foundation or concealer.

It's quite a small tube, but you do only need a small amount as it goes a long way. Initially I didn't like the smell, but this quickly disappeared along with the greasy feeling. After 5 minutes, there was no smell and my skin just felt really soft. I have eczema on my face and was a bit dubious about using this product although I did see that it is parabens free and this is what mostly aggravates my eczema. It didn't affect my skin, in fact it felt slightly better and not so dry.I would happily use this on my children's delicate skin as well as continuing to use it on my face daily during the summer.I received this product at a reduced price in return for an honest, unbiased review. I hope you've found my views helpful and I confirm that I would happily purchase this again at the full price.

I love the product, so much so that I'd like to buy a bigger size but saw that fit will cost me £3.99 to return!! Very frustrating.

I love the fact that this has no added water so is beautifully concentrated and a little goes a very long way.
