Didn't want a true high chair given how costly they are and how fast kids grow so instead got a multipurpose child's chair. The chair does have a tray but it seemed made things maybe a bit tight for our child so purchased this mat. The scooped out area in the front is a bit smaller than others I've seen but I think this one still works well. we can push the chair into the table and with a bib all works well.

This is super convenient to roll up and stuff in the diaper bag for restaurants or travel. The silicone is thin enough that it rolls up very easily and can be stuffed into a wet bag after use if dirty. The back side is shiny and sticks well to most surfaces....it does not slide once in place. However my 14mo old easily grabs the tray part that hangs off the edge and lifts it up off the table when he's bored. Not a fault of the tray, it's just not toddler proof (but then again what is?!) The tray also doesn't catch much of his food (but that's because he tends to drop things to the side), but it does stay open so in theory it would work to help minimize the mess that little ones make while eating. It also has a hole where you can attach a cord for utensils or sippy cups, however by pulling on that it would lift the tray so be aware if you have a rowdy kid and a tray full of food! Overall this is a very useful mat for a reasonable price - highly recommend!

The packaging wasn’t anything to be desired so I wouldn’t send this as a gift. I’d repackage it first. The color is feminine and it fits well on any countertop. You can take it to parks, restaurants, etc. It can also be used for various activities. The material is durable and easy to clean. Great price point as well.

This is exactly what I needed. It helps catch all the food that normally would end up on the floor. It’s easy to clean and stays attached to the table very well. Overall very happy with this product

Durable and pliable placemat for kids mealtime or projects Has a small lip that should keep messes off table, and a little tray that hangs off table to catch spills, dropped food or could hold crayons, etc. for projects. The silicone is not slippery and holds in place well on our wooden dining table. This should also work on most high chairs, I would think, which might make cleanup a little easier.

This silicone placemat is a very good size to bring along to a restaurant because it isn't too large (and take up most of the table space) but is still large enough to capture most of the mess that comes with small people enjoying the heck out of feeding themselves in public.I like the raised lip around the edge that catches some and slows down the rest of the inevitable spills and splashes. The silicone makes it easy to wash clean in the kitchen sink with a bit of hand dish washing liquid.The little tray attached to the edge does hold the placemat in place somewhat, and the baffles inside it strengthen it so it doesn't droop open and drop whatever is inside it. The 3 little spaces do keep the child amused as they put things in and take them out after they aren't hungry anymore and decide to play with the food instead of eating it. Those are the plusses but I found it kind of a hassle to clean out that space before I could roll the placemat up and stow it away in a 2 gallon ziplock bag before we left. As shown in my photo, that area had some irregularities in the molding but I don't think they will affect the placemat's longevity.
