A simple "to-do" list you can use NOW.
Bought this in the Kindle version and found it has some valuable tips, particularly for writing organization (or lack there of) due to ADHD/Executive Function deficits. Yes, some of the tips seem rather "obvious", but sometimes we need someone to tell us that even the obvious needs to be done intentionally. I'm actually ordering a hard copy now, as I find it easier to reference "real" books than electronic versions. I think this is one we'll grab off the shelf again and again as we work through these issues with our teenage son. It's also a quick and easy read, so if you're overwhelmed by some of the extensive books on ADHD and "just want someone to tell me what I can DO", this might be a breath of fresh air. As a side-note, I happen to live in Portland and Marydee has been recommended to me by three different and unrelated sources - a friend, our school and the clinic that diagnosed my son. She seems to have a strong following.

Highly recommend MaryDee Sklar's Executive Function Strategies
Marydee Sklar provides a unique perspective on Executive Function deficits and some easily implementable strategies to help adults and children. By far my favorite strategies our family have successfully incorporated into our daily routine with very positive results from Marydee's toolkit are: 1. 2 month calendar visible to all; 2. Communication via a write board to plan and track "to do" lists - saves parents and children, as well as, husbands and wives, from having more negative verbal interaction but still provides a way to communicate update/status of completion; 3. Project Planning by starting at the end and planning backwards with post-it notes; 4. Using visuals for blocks of time; and so many more. We highly recommend Mary Sklar's approach to strategies for managing Executive Function deficits and teaching disabled and nondisabled individuals of all ages executive function skills for higher quality of life outcomes.

Practical Tips- easy read!
Man, is this the book I have been looking for. Practical tips to help my (asperger's/ ASD, gifted) teen establish better executive functioning skills. We do school from home, so a few of the strategies needed to be tweaked to our circumstances (and will be great when it is time for college), but it was easy enough to make the changes. I wasn't even halfway through the book before we implemented the tip about using analog clocks. Highly recommend.

Everyone needs this book!
There is very little in this book that I didn't highlight! I had never heard of executive functioning before this, but after reading a few chapters I knew it was something that my ADD daughter and myself needed help with. I tracked down Marydee Sklar and we enrolled in her program for executive functioning success. Truly life changing!!!

A "Tip" book with actual tips.
Finally a book of tips that is actually full of tips. My favorite so far, using an analog clock or watch. THANK you so much for that one.The tips in this book are actually not fluffy filler. They are satisfy my need for what to do AND why, but briefly. Plus rather than going on and on about a topic, the author offers references for further investigation.

I am a big fan of Marydee sklars work and this handy book summarizes the best of her tips in a handy reference format. Truly though to really appreciate her work, I recommend taking one of her 6 week online courses.

Get past the title- this is an excellent book for parents trying to support children struggling to study.
A very practical, helpful book for parents of children struggling to be organised and focused. The title is off putting (sounds pushy), but actually it is supportive. I bought it when my teenager was found to have sluggish executive functioning and found it helpful- wish we'd had it earlier.
