Wipeout (PS)

Good game.

This is the first Wipeout game on Psone and this was the game that started the whole futuristic racing series. The game also appear on Sega Saturn and it's not as good as the Psone version.This is a racing game and instead of cars - which I guess you can still class them as cars without wheels - the game let's you race as high speed ships and there's only 4 to choose from with different stats. There's 8 tracks in total: 6 in championship mode and 2 unlockable ones, which are only playable in single races. These tracks have speed and weapon pads spread out across the tracks and when you race over them, the speed pad will boost your speed to go faster and the weapon pad will give a weapon to use against other racers or you could get a shield to use on yourself to protect you from the other racers that fire at you.There's not much replayability in this game, but there is another mode to unlock besides championship mode once you've finished that and the tracks in that are all mirrored than the other tracks.If you're looking for something different in the racing genre, then this is it. It's got great racing and great dance and techno music while you race and amazingly, the game let's you play your own music CD's. I recommend the Psone version over the Saturn version because the playablility isn't very good. It's not the worst thing in the game, it's just that the games on the saturn are poor, but it's still not bad though.

This item arrived quickly. I am happy with the condition which is as described. Game itself brings back memories. I never got far with it back then and I may not now either. It makes a great addition to my collection. Apart from crashing a lot this Iis an awesawe game.

And so the futuristic gaming begins. Wipeout is a racing game using Anti-Gravity ships to speed through tracks using high-tech weaponry to destroy or hinder other racers. Along with Resident Evil, this game has some of the best graphics to offer for such an early title on the PSOne.The real downside to the first instalment is the relative ease of the game. The tracks are not as challenging as some in the sequel 2097 or the latest instalment, Fusion. However, on the plus, the control system is easy, just think of using the L and R keys as a handbrake when turning sharp corners. The weapons are really cool and the fun just keeps on coming. The other positive thing is that once you've finished the game you'll be begging for more, thus enter the sequel, 2097...However, if you are looking for a car racing version look at Rollcage or better still, Crash Team Racing.

This was fantastic in the days of past when I owned a Ps one and is still a very good game and if you still own a Ps1 then a game worth owning and playing this is the game that started the whole Wipeout series of games and has absolutely been the inspiration for Wipe Hd Fury on the PS3. Wipeout is truly a iconic game and would have got 5 stars if it wasn't for the latest Wipeout HD Fury on the PS3. I can still remember playing this excellent addictive game on the PS1. A true retro gamers game. So if your into your retro games and have a PS1 Or can get a compatible version from Playstation Network for the PS3 then it is definitely worth getting if only for the nostalgia value.

Zu diesem Spiel kann man nur eines sagen: War schon damals gut und es ist heute immer noch ein Vergnügen zu spielen!
